I didn't see it, (was out running errands) but sounds like it was quite a game. Rick Barnes has turned his bunch of pre-schoolers into a feisty team that will make some noise in the Big XII. Tennessee had too much marksmanship from behind the arc in the end... It should make for some exciting times when the Horns collide with the Aggies (who handed Auburn their worst home loss is a generation last night!).
Cindy and I watched. Tennessee looked bad in the first half. We were down by 15 at half time. Tennessee turned on the heat to go up by 2 with about 11 seconds left in the game. The Horns tied it with a driving lay up with only 1 second left. Tennessee won the first OT handily. Texas had two starters that fouled out in the second half and was very thin on experience going into the OT period. Final score: 111 Tennessee 105 Texas
Texas is doing better than expected with a starting cast of 4 freshman. The win over LSU on a neutral court was telling. Losing to Tenn in Knoxville is not a bad loss. We should be competitive this year when tourney time comes around and I expect we will be in the tourney, maybe not get past 2nd round but still in the dance.
