Time to look at the "other" team in the year's marquee matchup:

"Key game: Sept. 13 vs. Ohio State. It’s the marquee game of the 2008 season, and at the very least it could be a Rose Bowl preview. While it seems like these two play all the time, the Trojans will entertain the Buckeyes for the first meeting in 18 years. Expect an electric atmosphere akin to when Ohio State hosted Texas in a primetime September showdown three years ago, and expect the winner to eventually earn a spot in Miami on Jan. 8, playing for a chance at a national championship"

I agree with this article that the Trojans stand a real chance of taking a step back and losing the Pac10 title this season. However, like the article, I don't know exactly who beats them in that conference. Maybe Arizona State??? I do give the Trojans credit though for scheduling a tough non-con slate.

Speaking of Arizona State....do they beat Georgia this year? I was reading a piece in The Sporting News that said that Georgia would be traveling more than five times further for that game than they've traveled in the last 10 or so years COMBINED for non-conference games. In fact, it stated this was the first time Georgia has gone west of the central time zone to play a non-conference game in decades. Here's the link, if anyone's interested.

It is an interesting game for Georgia and it is made possible by the 12th game addition.

I wish Florida would add someone besides Miami when there is a 12th game but I suppose it is mostly for recruiting purposes in South Florida and when these schedules were made Miami was still Miami......winning national titles.

MCG, I'm with you on Miami. But there is 12 games every year now. The years we schedule Miami is the years there are one more week in the College season therefore we can schedule an open date after Miami before we play Tennessee.

We have another game scheduled with Miami in 2013 I think it is. Like you I would rather have a home and home with someone like Ohio State, Notre Dame or others instead of Miami every time that situation occurs. At least now when we play in Miami we won't be playing in the Orange Bowl. It's been torn down and is the future site for the Marlins who will then be called the Miami Marlins.
