Not bad....in football. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44423519/ns/business-stocks_and_economy/t/us-falls-th-global-competitiveness-survey-shows/?GT1=43001 Bad trend though for world economic competitiveness rankings. This statement says a lot: "The forum praised the U.S. for its productivity, highly sophisticated and innovative companies, excellent universities and a flexible labor market. But it also cited "a number of escalating weaknesses" such as rising government debt and declining public faith in political leaders and corporate ethics." I know you can choose to ignore what I highlighted and just go with "gov't. debt" as an escalating weakness because it suits you politically but that underlines our problem that we can't seem to overcome. You can list the latest headlines detailing the declining public support for Obama but you can blatantly ignore the very same poor ratings for the Republican Congress and some of you can just ignore the blatant disregard for ethics that some of our nation's corporations have embraced over the past 10 years. That is a foolish course for our country's politics to continue on. We need to acknowledge as a nation that we all....both sides....need a course of correction or we will just continue as a nation to wallow in the muck.
I covered that George. No need to highlight the "increasing debt" for you guys because just like I said about declining ratings for Obama......you guys only see what you want to see and absolutely nothing else matters to you it seems.
Uh..."declining faith" is an attitude...a poll if you will. Increasing government debt is a fact. But then you only see what you want to see and absolutely nothing else matters to you, it seems.
Not true Stu.....I think it's a very big problem......and one of several that we have......not just the only problem.
I agree....and so far I don't see anyone emerging who seems trustworthy, capable and charismatic all wrapped into one.
We have a leader! <r><IMG src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o60/georgekrebs/id.jpg"><s></e></IMG></r>
First of all Congress is made up of a Democrat majority Senate and a Republican controlled House. Remind me of the high ratings the House got while Pelosi was in charge? And the debt issue and the poor ratings of Congress are not separate issues. Many people are fed up with Congress just not addressing the problem responsibly.
