I have to say in 2 years he's accomplished a lot at UF. If he can pull of the upset that will vault him into the elite in college coaching, Stoops, Tressel and Pete Carroll....I still really intensely dislike Stoops!!
After having spoken with Mrs Meyer several times while standing in line or waiting for service at our local "Haile Plantation Publix" ...... I bet Urban is just managing his players the way he's managed at home. She's a pretty cool lady ..... and all about being a Gator!!!
Bill, I expect nothing but goodness from Urban.....he's an Ohio boy. It's in the water....and he no doubt learned well during his time at the center of the college football universe!
I met Shelly Meyer in the elevator in Kentucky last year. She is very nice and smokin besides.. Needless to say I was disappointed my floor came up when it did. 8)
Well thank your George, Buckeye Terry, you'll really like me also then. I'm an Ohio boy, from the Portsmouth area south of Columbus.  But my parents moved me to Florida in Dec 1945 and I've become a Florida boy. Now with my pending move to North Carolina I don't know what I will be. There are so many transplanted Floridians there it's almost like being in Florida.
I have often wondered what if Meyer had gone to ND? No doubt he is an excellent coach and I always like for people to succeed. Bill I always knew there was something I liked about you, but never realized your formative years were in Portsmouth! Don
Don, I was actuallyborn in Rushtown, I'm not sure if it even still exists, and then we lived in Lucasville just north of Portsmouth before moving to Cincinnatti. Right after WWII ended we moved to Miami and I've been here ever sense. I am about to become what a lot of people in North Carolina call a half back. The've moved halfway back north.  But yes I'm from the Portsmouth area and still have family in Lucasville. That's why when OSU plays I always root for them unless a loss moves the Gators in better position. So I'll be rooting for the Gators Jan 8.
I'm tellin' ya...he's from freakin' Portsmouth...BORN to be SEC!!! Just kiddin' Bill...we're proud to have you!
Roy Rogers is from Lucasville! At one time we had a picture of my dad in high school with Roy in the picture. His name was not Roy Rogers at the time though. Portsmouth is SEC territory? I guess you mean the southern part of the state.  Strange thing about Ohio, the Cincinnatti airport is in Covington Kentucky. Anyway I can't root for Ohio State this bowl season.
Portsmouth is on the Ohio River, is it not? That's practically West Virginia. You know what us Buckeyes think of THOSE people!
Yep Portsmouth is right on the Ohio river, as is Cincinnitti. I guess my life in Ohio was pretty tied up with the Ohio River. And it is indeed close to W. Virginia. But it's still in Ohio. Now what do the Portsmouth people think of the Northern Ohio people, that ought to be the big question!  I haven't been back in years.
