LOL! Yes, the Huskers clearly shocked the world with that one. Gip, I don't think the Tigers win was an upset. I see the two teams as evenly matched, with the Tigers possibly having the edge.
   I just reconnected with the world half an hour ago and I don't believe any of this. Stanford lost to Washington again?
:? Utah? That doesn't compute. There were warning signs that I ignored. Utah almost dumped UCLA and they looked dramatically improved, but I thought it was a fluke. Guess not...eh?
Utah looks to be gaining momentum. They played UCLA down to the wire despite coughing the ball over to UCLA a whole bunch of times. "Popular opinion" tells us the Pac12 is top heavy great, but the middle is so so. The past few weeks have shown us that might not be true. Assuming the pundits are right about Oregon and Stanford, then the middle of the conference proved a lot tougher than expected.
Unfortunately, Corey, when it's the P12, when the top teams go down to the middle teams, it's further evidence at how much improvement the P12 has yet to make in order to catch the SEC. As always, when the top teams in the SEC lose, it just shows just how deep and rough/tough the SEC is and continues to support that they are far and away the best, top to bottom.
There's an old Poker saying "If you can beat em, bet em". For the last 7 years the SEC has been holding the Royal Straight Flush in early January.
Hard to argue that point kp...I told a friend today that if you have a problem with the ranking just pray that your team keeps winning, its the easiest solution...
Miami dodged a bullet last night, UNC is terrible but they were a 30 sec's from a win. Miami QB did not look good.
The canes are a year away I think. Don't see them hanging with FSU..... fading in the 2nd half and losing to the nolies by 17 or so.
I'll be interested to see how the playoffs shake out. I hated the Bowl Alliance. I hated the BCS even more as I clearly stated at the time, it heavily favored one type of conference (and one conference in particular). People laughed it off a the time, but the proof is in the pudding. That conference has now achieved a level of success that is as great as all other eras of their previous greatness combined. It could be a coincidence. It might not be. The further we get away from this, the better. The pussified 4 team playoff system is a step in the right direction, but it still has a way to go to shake out of its ugly BCS roots.
That game was so ugly that saying the Canes are a year away is beyond kind...Sure looked very pitiful to what I consider a 10th ranked team. Morris was terrible with no rhythm or touch and didn't look like a senior quarterback leading out there. And two games in a row the opposing team changed up their normal scheme and had Hurricane players chasing their shadows. I do believe we were out coached in this game as the defense gives up 500 yards. Nothing like a little crow pie for Cane fans who thought this would be a cakewalk as we inch closer to play with FSU and V Tech. Looking like we could finish 9-3 or 10-2 this season and I personally would call that a fantastic year. Not quite there yet but getting closer with Golden's incredible recruiting in spite of 3 years of the NCAA hangman looming over. If we play as tough against FSU as we did UF it may be only 17 points but I am not seeing improvement with each game, it may get ugly...
As a long time Cane fan I tend to stay positive because the rest of the world enjoys seeing you burn down if possible...We did have 556 offensive yards in what was the worst game in Stephen Morris career... We are 6-0 going into Wake Forest next week and then at FSU and home for V-Tech...So I need to shut up and enjoy the wins because its been ten years since we have been this good....Life is so damn short, I need to enjoy a few minutes of it....
