8) There are upsets...and then there are Titanic upsets... As Gen. Patton said when he observed the carnage, "God help me, but I do love it so..." http://www.thedenverchannel.com/sports/31421309/detail.html Sacramento State 30 Colorado 28 My granddaughter, Jessica, was at this game with her Colorado boyfriend. She sent pictures of Ralphie the Buffalo taking the field. It could be worse. Last year, Sac State beat another 12Pac team: Oregon State. Remember that when you read this score... Oregon State 10 Wisconsin 7 Do you know where Reser Stadium is? Neither does anybody else. First you have to fly into Eugene, Oregon, home of the Oregon Ducks, which has the only airfield south of Portland. Then you take a bus ride, way out into the woods...lots of trees...lots of bears...lots of dope smoking squirrels...until you find the small town of Corvallis. Don't worry about finding a university. Just look for the lights of the football stadium. The lights are always on, because it's always dark and raining... http://democratherald.com/sports/beavers-sports/football/osu-football-beavers-send-no-wisconsin-back-to-madison-with/article_e13b47c9-0596-5695-b45f-afa540fee4e3.html Then there's this... Louisiana-Monroe 34 Arkansas 31 http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2012/9/8/3304154/louisiana-monroe-vs-arkansas-score-final-recap Tell me I'm dreaming. The only things that we know for sure, after two weeks, are that the 12Pac owns the Big Ten, and my Irish still need a quarterback. The rest is apparently up for grabs...
Check that...the 12Pac doesn't just own the Big Ten, they own the whole world. Final score: Arizona 59 Okie State 38 Rich Rodriquez has found his new briar patch. He was never a good fit at Michigan, but at Arizona he's perfect. Okie State was ranked #18 and they threatened to win the NC just last year, but they ran into a desert buzz saw. With access to superior athletes from California to Texas as well as easy access to outstanding players in AZ as well as the San Diego area, Brer RichRod feels right at home, just like when he was at West Virginia. BTW- USC supposedly had an "easy" schedule, but right now they're looking at: road games with Stanford, Utah, Washington, Arizona and UCLA. They also have home games with a vastly improved Arizona State, Oregon and Notre Dame. I can't even see them being undefeated when the Irish get here at Thanksgiving. They're not going to make it...
Wisconsin fired it's OL coach after the Oregon State game. This is his first year on the staff, he is a SEC veteran. They are replacing him with their quality control coach...that should be interesting.
I'm not surprised, what he did at WVA wasn't a fluke, he just didn't fit in at Michigan. I doubt if he is able to get AZ ahead of USC/UCLA/Oregon/Washington in the Pac12 pecking order though.
 Wisconsin fired it's OL coach? Holy cow! I hadn't heard that. Those cheeseheads are having delusions of grandeur! Oregon State in Corvallis is tougher than a lot of people back east realize. Even John McKay used to lose up there by scores of like 3-0... The real sleeping giant out here is Arizona State. It's the biggest university in the nation...even bigger than Ohio State. It's an easy place to recruit to, because the Colorado River runs right through the campus, the girls are beautiful and the academic standards are the lowest in the 12Pac. A semi-scrupulous coach like Todd Graham could create a monster there. I'm watching all these 12Pac schools with great interest and I'm making no predictions. All I know for sure is that most of the schools out here have made a huge, new commitment of money and resources into football and it appears to be paying off.
Bielma is such a bitch. He wouldn't send Oregon St a game tape since Oregon State couldn't send them one (their opener was rescheduled, I believe). After Wiscy's squeeker opener, he shrugged it off. He went down to Corvallis and got a lesson in manhood.. So the OLine coach goes? That's rich.
Add me to the list of people who think Rich Rodriquez can be very successful at Arizona. He just didn't fit at Michigan so it was best for him and Michigan that he move on. Looks like he may well be a fit at Arizona.
