    ....never knew this before until this afternoon. Mert & Fern had lunch in K.C. with Scooter and L. Babe around 1960 when the Babe was a scout for the Yankeers.

    Scooter was Phil Rizzuto of course, but who is L. Babe? Couldn't be Babe Ruth he died in 1948. BTW I found it interesting that he was buried in Gateway to Heaven Cemetary, given Ruths well publisicized hedonism...:)

    Never heard of Loren Babe, but looking at his Wiki I see he sadly died young and that his friend Charley Lau followed him soon afterwards.
