Let me guarantee you this. If Stoops wants the job and doesn't drag his feet, then it's his.

I think it's less than 50/50 but I also think it might be a possibility.

He would be my number one choice, and I think Petersen of Boise State would be my number two.

Here's a link you can click on.

Hey Bill maybe 3rd time is the charm. It was going to be Stoops when Spurrier left, I'm sure Stoops name was out there when Meyer was hired although I doubt Foley ever targeted him only had eyes for Urban....now it's the 3rd time the UF job has come open! :)

Actually Terry I think that Stoops could have had the job when we got Meyer. I'm not sure of that but my understanding is that like this time he could have taken the job.

What's interesting though is when he didn't he played a part in getting Meyer to come to Florida. Meyer talked to him at length about what it was like in Gainesville and I think they have remained good friends.

I don't think a big deal is going to be made of it or it will take a long time. However I think all Stoops has to do is say yes and the job is his.

I have read some places tonight that Chris Petersen is the likely choice. One Boise site said he was offered a six year contract and would be announced next week.

Update on Patrino. Apparently he just signed a new seven year extension to his contract.

The list is pretty much as I have heard except the first three are the targets. Stoops or Petersen is my guess.

And I am not saying Stoops would leave Oklahoma, I am saying the job is his if he wants it and accepts within a few days.

The uncertainty of the B12 may send him your way this time.

I'm hoping George, but I would also be very happy with Chris Petersen.

Like I'm saying Scott, I'm hoping.

However I remember when Spurrier left that sources were so sure it was Stoops that it was released, then he didn't come.

But I am hearing that it's looking like a real possibility.

The way recruits flock to Florida, you could probably win with Fulmer at the helm... Oh, did I mention that he is still available?

Not sure. However, if the alimony payments are still being made, I hope he remarries another program soon. :?

I heard on Friday that Stoops is in the process of finishing the dreamhouse that he and his wife aways dreamed of. If that's the case I have major doubts of him leaving Oklahoma.

Wow...that's shocking to say the least. I mean Muschamp has shown a lot of potential as a DCoord and he was the "coach in waiting" at Texas. I am not suprised that he would change "coach in waiting" on uncertain terms...ie Mack has not said when he would retire...for HC at Florida.

Good Luck to him, I'm sure he will do a good job. He's young dynamic and should be a great recruiter and you will have an excellent defense. I don't know what he favors for an offense, under Tubberville it was a run oriented conservative offense, and under Mack it was mainly the Read Option with Colt. It will be critical for him who he hires as his OCoord.

Oh crap I just was informed that Major Applewhite will be going with Muschamp to UF as OCoord.

Total rebuild of the Texas Staff...unfreakin believable... GD Urban Meyer!!
