UCLA dominated Stanford last night 34-16. First win by UCLA over Stanford in a number of years.

I don't know why but I watched the entire game. That is the worst I can remember a Stanford team looking so bad. Oh, this isn't original, as a matter of fact I stole this from another board but described the crowd well last night. "Must be a "seat out". They got most of the stadium to dress as seats..."

Looking at the box score i see that Stanford is down to their 3rd qb. UCLA needed this win in a really bad way. This has to be Shaws worst Stanford team.

Honestly the Stanford QB was sacked so many times last night, I lost count.

OK it looks like we have duplicate topics now. I see the original Week 8 of College Football, plus this one where Don's post on UCLA/Stanford is the first post. Don did you start a new topic?

Don I just changed the name of the topic so we don't have duplicate Week 8 of College Football topics.

Stanford has been decimated by injuries. They're not just down to their #3 QB. They're down to their #3 OLs. Most of them are 18 years-old who spend most of their time protecting themselves instead of protecting the QB...

I don't know what to say about Chip Kelly and UCLA. He walked in and benched all the seniors in favor of freshmen last year. Many older kids transferred out and the Bruins became the second youngest team in America, after Cincinnati. This year they're even younger, with more transferring out and poor recruiting, they're now the youngest team in America...

They were talking about coaches on the hot seat yesterday on XM Sports (ESPNU). With regards to Kelly they felt like while he's not gotten off to a good start that UCLA is likely to let this play out for a couple of reasons the biggest one is it will be expensive for them to buy him out and then expensive to bring in a new guy.

I wound up getting really run down and sick last night, so I didn't watch a second of this game. I meant to, but I just couldn't. Kelly will get time at UCLA because they are just that dumb. Dumb for signing him to a huge non-incentive laden contract. Dumb for being overly patient with him. Dumb for always willing to be 2nd fiddle in town to USC. It's just dumb all the way around.

A real winner would fire the AD, hire Foley and bring in Urban Meyer. That's what a winner would do. We'll see what UCLA does.
