What? Is anyone surprised? I've stated my thoughts on that "Program" since we joined the SEC. Now we'll see if they have people in the right places of the NCAA org. If they do, it all fades away...
So what's the deal with the gas mask for smoking dope? Novelty or higher high? As far as him offering up that he took money, I'm glad he said it. I wish more players would admit that they took money if they did, put the cheaters feet to the fire. College football needs a big expose' on the bagmen culture.
Whooops....Alabama D Line coach resigned under a cloud that there are recruiting violations that will be coming to light. Bo Davis coached at Texas for a few years, he was clean then!
it's not that this went on that surprises me in the least. It's that the kid flat said it on national TV in a press conference. This will be spun somehow, I am sure, but I don't really see how that will ever change the public perception of the Ole Miss program.
Bo Davis apparently contacted recruits in "no contact" time and then lied to the school (and Saban) about it. So he was asked to resign. What an idiot! :x
 I'm always amazed that some coach at a school which doesn't have to cheat, thinks he can cheat anyway. Just what advantage did he think he was getting? Saban is among the cleanest of the clean. I hope that guy never works at a big time program again...
And on top of that, apparently none of the recruits involved came to Alabama. So not only was it stupid and illegal, it was ineffective.
the short path is never the right choice in the long run........It's going to kill me all night trying to remember which old timer dropped that Yogism on me, but I never forgot it.
Interesting article about the Florida search for a new coach. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/football/os-mike-bianchi-saturday-circus-0430-20160428-column.html
Apparently the infraction itself is not a major one, but he lied to the school during the investigation. :x
In that article Bill is a paragraph about the passing of Dallas sportswriter Blackie Sherrod who apparently had quite a humorous wit: "On legendary quarterback Bobby Layne's car accident: "After indulging in some heavy, late-night research with scholarly friends, Bobby was driving back to his hotel, innocently enough, when he was sideswiped by several empty cars lurking at curbside." LOL
A lot of those old NFL guys would have been roasted roundly by today's media climate. I can't even imagine how the media would handle Babe Ruth's party antics.
