I'll start, did anyone catch the show Mr. Robot? I thought it was the best TV program I've seen in a long time. A millennial star but the storyline written thru a Gen Xers eyes.

    Anyone else have good recommendations?

I watched Mr. Robot for about 4 or 5 episodes, but it was just a little too dark for me. But it was in general well received and a lot of people liked it.

Lately I've been working my way through 5 seasons of Breaking Bad on Netflix and finally finished! Wow..what an ending.

I'm a Longmire fan which was on AMC (I think) and I thought it was not picked up for a 4th season but Netflix did and so after watching Breaking Bad I've started on the new season of Longmire. Longmire is based on a series of books, he's a sheriff in Wyoming, circa today. Gruff, but savy.

The only new show I've watched is the first few episodes of Limitless, where the dude takes the ultimate smart pill. Not sure if I'll make it, his female co-star is a butter face. :?

Helix - I've watched Season 1. The first several episodes a great sense of eery suspense. After that, it got eye-rollingly ridiculous, but it was at least entertaining.

Walking Dead - I've finished with Season 5. This continues to be one of the best zombie movies out there. They are very inconsistent with their interactions with the zombies (sometimes the zombies are invincible, other times the heroes are) but they have some interesting views of societal interaction when shi* hits the fan. They've shown four different small-scale "societies" and how each of them comes about is quite interesting. "You either kill or you die. Then kill."

Marvel's Agents of Shield - I'm into Season 2. Season 1 fed into and set up some of the recent Marvel story arcs, including Captain America. Season 2 I'm sure is feeding into and setting up the next spat of story arcs, but Season 2 is turning out to be quite a bit more interesting. This season seems to rely a lot less on techno miracles than character "development" to solve problems. Hey, it's Marvel, I like it.

Game of Thrones - I'm caught up. Still digging the surprise and indignation from those that haven't read the books. By far the most fabulous thing on television. btw - new book is about here!

Since this covers movies too I thought I'd do a quick review of The Martian which I saw yesterday here in Chicago. I thought it was a very enjoyable story. It reminds of of how proud we were of NASA and going into space. I give it 2 thumbs up.
As for new TV shows, I didn't think I'd like that tatoo woman show Blindspot but it's pretty good. Blood and Oil reminds me of the original Dallas. We finally caught up with House of Cards. I think it peaked in season 2.

I watch Agents of Shield. I'm up and down on it, but still watch it.

I usually like the Superman shows. I liked the old Lois and Clark, and the newer Smallville, so I'll give the new Super Girl show a try.

I do watch and like Arrow and Flash

Been a long time fan of Supernatural.

If you're a Netflix subscriber you really should watch The Fall with Gillian Anderson. It's set in N.Ireland and it's about a serial killer. Only 11 episodes.

    It was really good IMHO.

    I'll give it a shot.

Anyone here waiting for the X-Files miniseries coming in January? I was a big X-phile, but so over it. Still.

Another Netflix Series that I watched and really liked is Bloodline. Hopefully it'll have a 2nd season

I've been tempted to start with Amazon Prime's The Man in the High Castle. There is a pilot available the series starts later this month.

I didn't know there was a mini series on X-files. I'll have to look it up.

My 23 year old hooked me on Mr.Robot (it's amazing the stuff he has gotten me to watch), fantastic show, well written, terribly dark and surprising. My fear with this show is it will end as some hallucination or imaginary thought process.

Game of Thrones (another show he said I had to watch) has been fun to keep up with and surprisingly not afraid to kill off important characters.

Kinda looking forward to the new X-Files as I watched all the earlier shows....

    Great topic....

Oh! We have some Netflix folks in the thread, awesome!

Check out Peaky Blinders. Cillian Murphy is Ireland's best actor and I've no idea how he hasn't made it bigger here. It's good stuff and the second season picked up some superior actors (Tom Hardy) to strengthen the cast.

It's a post WWI thriller about Irish Traveller's, the IRA, the Jewish mafia and Italian mafia all under the watchful eye of the throne.

    I'm anxiously awaiting season 3.
