Great....maybe this time they won't eff it up so bad..... I can see it now...... Repeal of the Credit Card Act..... Let all tax cuts expire except those that benefit the top 1% of wage earners along with a reinstatement of the estate tax cut as well. They will conveniently blame their inability to keep the tax cuts in place for 99% of Americans on the spending policies of the Democrats.....in a devious attempt at mobilizing the masses against the Dems. ...Can't wait. Is this one of the governorships they are talking about? http://blog.reidreport.com/2010/09/it-just-never-stops-rick-scotts-shady-hospital-transaction/
Your are a typical lib with your revised history MCG. But that's to be expected. Stay tuned the first Tuesday in November.
What history have I revised Bill? I do offer conjecture for what the future may be like if the GOP holds rank after November. But otherwise....what revision? And....did you read the lates article on the GOP nominee for governor Slick Rick Scott?
Revised history: GOP is the only group that has given us tax breaks and you can't see it. I'm no wealthy person and my taxes are going up at the hand of your beloved liberal government. The working man has an enemy in place of power right now. The man looking for a hand out will try to keep them in power.
Now...correct me if I am wrong but isn't it the GOP that refuses to extend the tax cuts because their cozy buddies... the top 1% don't get to come along?
Dave let me review where we are so far. I post an article from a truly unbiased source as to what is most likely to happen this November. You counter with an article about Rick Scott written by an Obama campaign worker. You try to hijack things by trying to turn it into a topic about Rick Scott. It isn't. It is about what is likely to happen in November, written by a highly thought of person who also predicted correctly what was going to happen in 2006 and 2008. Somehow you fell very short in your rebuttal.
Bill.....your article/posts made significant mention of gubernatorial races that could go GOP. Maybe Florida isn't one of them. On the tax issue why is it that my perception that the GOP wants all or none? And...if they can get it all.....or even if saner heads prevail and we get 80 % of the cuts extended to the lower 80% of wage earners then why is it that I suspect the GOP will then wail about the resulting deficit to kingdom come. A wise Republican once said....."United We Stand....Divided We Fall" Smart guy. Right now I just feel we are headed for disaster in the face of the pressures of the world economic competition and religious zealots that threaten our way of life and very existence. The division in America seems to just get worse. American politicians are much more interested in how bad they can make the other side look than they are in passing good legislation that makes sense for Americans of all classes. And voters seem to fall right in line. For example.....how is it that you previously had nothing positive to say about Scott and now he seems to be the second coming of RR? Do you really specifically remember where we were in this country at the end of Bush's tenure? I sure as hell remember.
Dave, I haven't said anything about Scott. I posted and article by a well known expert in the prediction arena. You countered with a negative article by an Obama campaign worker. This isn't about Scott and I don't live in Florida so I can't vote for the next Governor. Nice try but I am not discussing Scott. You can as you seem obsessed about him, but not me.
So....the actual author of this article.....the St. Pete Times business consultant Robert Trigaux.... is the Obama campaign worker you are referring to? http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/why-rick-scott-failed-to-add-tampa-general-to-his-giant-hospital-chain/1118991
The top 1% includes most of the small business owners in this country. You know, the same people who're afraid to hire anyone new, because of Obamacare costs and tax increases? Gee...I wonder why unemployment is so high? BTW...MOST American workers own a small business or work for someone who does... http://www.smbtn.com/smallbusinessfacts/
Guys, This GOP revival is so obvious to me. I was having breakfast at 3 a.m. yesterday at the only place open at that time, Denny's. I was on my way to the airport and the hotel breakfast started at 07:00 and I had a flight leaving San Jose at 06:20. In that so called "Restaurant", I was seated in a booth next to a booth inhabited by this guy obviously influenced by mass quantities of alcohol. Among other things, he was spouting off about the atrocities of government in Bell, California. I said because people don't keep a watchful eye. I asked him when he heard about this. Yesterday was his answer. This had been going on for years and he, living very close to the situation, had no idea. Obama will perpetuate this if anything. Yes, and he is for perpetuating the joblessness so that he enslaves that portion of the population to guarantee votes. That's the way of the democrats if you haven't noticed. The Republicans want to motivate you to get back to work... the farthest thing from your mind obviously. They want to do this to keep you from being a burden on the working man. From behind me, I heard the sounds of approval. Obviously this was not his first soap box in this venue and the few others in attendance were in agreement with me. Finally the boozer shut up, finished his meal, and left. I went to the counter to pay my bill. The manager met me there and said "This one is on me." Anytime someone can peaceably remove that loud mouth, he deserves a meal on the house.
JO'Co, those are interesting facts, thanks. Tom, good story. Now you know how to get free meals. Let's hope more people wake up before November and the tsunami gets even bigger and then carries over to 2012.
Yeah....lets get back to the policies and strategy of 2006 and see if we can conjure up a full blown Depression this time.
Dave is inconsolable so I won't comment. One thing that bothers me is that statements have been made by some Republicans that, when they take over Congress, they will launch a series of investigations to see "what went wrong". NOBODY should want to see that colossal dog and pony show. The Republicans in Congress disgust me just a little less than the Democrats. Both are feckless opportunists looking out for #1. Tin plate phonies like John McCain and Lindsay Graham are the poster children.
I can't disagree George. As far as the investigations I don't expect that to happen. There was also talk by the Dems of the same thing and very little of it has happened. If the Republicans are dumb enough to over reach, there tour will be short.
That's laughable. What would they do....go back as far as Jan. 20th 2009 and then stop?? Geezus.....
Bloodbath coming... http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/tapped_archive?month=08&year=2010&base_name=the_impending_democratic_blood http://www.unitedliberty.org/articles/6791-gallup-gop-takes-10-point-lead-in-generic-congressional-ballot Investigations are coming led by California's Darrell Issa. They will include all the thug groups like ACORN, labor bosses like the UAW and vote stealing machines like the Daley's in Chicago who got that idiot elected. We can't get our country back until their enormous power is curbed. http://www.unitedliberty.org/articles/6767-gop-plans-to-investigate-obama-administration Investigate Obama's payoff politics... http://townhall.com/columnists/DonaldLambro/2010/06/04/we_must_investigate_obamas_payoff_politics
My 75 year old dad...former executive and a staunch Republican...Clinton hater.... agrees with me 110% about the crook Rick Scott and amazingly with my premise that the GOP would hate for this recession to end for political reasons and possibly would take actions to extend it.....as sick as that is.
