This whole Wall Street reform issue boils down to one thing.....the thing that has been severely violated by a lack of governmental oversight.....and a general turn the other cheek by many in power over the last few years... .....trust.
"Families looking to buy their first car or their first home" Mortgage applications down 27% last month. Terrible unemployment numbers. Our "leaders" are too busy with health care, financial reform, off shore drilling hearings etc. to bother with trivial matters like employment. But hey, it's only been almost a year and a half and once these clowns get done with pilloring Arizona, I'm sure that they'll do something (anything) about the economy.
Gipper, I think the point he is making is that with this new law the required level of trust that has been blown to bits in recent years can be elevated again to the point that the economy stands a chance to rebound.
10% unemployment while Obama continues to trample states rights, mock those publicly who disagree , invite tinpot puppets like Calderone to rip one of our sovereign states on the floor of the US Congress and continues to fight for the rights of illegal invaders. Finance reform bill passes thru the Senate in the wee hours. Regulations on all private financial industries but absolutely no mention of the two biggest offenders of all... the government's own Fannie and Freddie. And we are supposed to take this socialist seriously for anything more than what he is?
Here is what trust will get you in America today: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37272705/ns/gulf_oil_spill/?Gt1=43001 Effing sad situation....

Those facts can't be denied as one poster says. Might be hard to find any top politicians without BP contributions but I don't feel that Obama has handled this with the ferocity he should have....maybe this is why.
I certainly hope not, Dave...I don't suspect him of handling the spill poorly because of any debt to BP...I think that the federal government is just not equipped with the expertise to do much here...just oversee as best they can.
Probably not Stu but dang it.....I just didn't see the fire coming out of his office that should have been there from the start.
Well....I guess Obama decided to stray from his socialistic course and rely upon private business to fix the problem. Obviously BP has fallen woefully short here.
