Smith was 5-15 for 80 yards and a TD

No...I'm not rubbing in the title game...these were his stats today in the Senior Bowl that the NFL Network has kept a national secret.

I suspect Leak wasn't much better as the North won 27-0.....or so I hear.

No NFL Network here either, although I'm rooting for it to succeed. The NFL telecasts keeps ESPN going. Without them, ESPN will go down the tubes and take that smirking, fat, punk Chris Berman down as well. The utter destruction of ESPN will be a positive good for the world of sports...

You are correct, Leake (5/9 for 23yds and a fumble that lead to a North TD) didn't play well at all and his draft status wasn't enhanced. But in the end it's likely that he was never going to be a 1st day draft choice, much less a 1st round pick. He'll be drafted though, most likely late round choice.

I'm guessing about round 4 or even 5 for Leak.

I wouldn't be surprised if Smith drops to round 3 from some things I have read.

Make that 52 yards passing for Smith.

Still sounds like a banner day compared to Leak's day.

To be fair to both QB's, for the most part in these all-star games it's difficult to put up great numbers and I think the weather in Mobile wasn't exactly sunny and mild. I think what counts for the most part is that the scouts get to see them in workouts.

Oh btw, there were NFL scouts at the Shrine Bowl workouts and NFL assistants coaching both teams as well! So those players also got evaluated by the NFL during the workouts.

I dunno...his numbers sucked but the article that you posted seemed to say he had an upbeat experience.

I think for whatever reason players like these all-star games. Even in High School, you read a lot of positive comments about players experiences at the various State HS All-Star games and at the Army All-American Game that was just a couple of weeks ago.

I think they like working out with other great players, they get treated well by the local charity that is sponsoring the game. There really isn't any pressure to win the game, just play and have fun.

As I said before the big thing is getting to workout for the NFL scouts.
