Reports are out that Treon Harris has been moved to WR for spring practice at UF. Thank God is what I say. The last three Gator losses in a row took offensive ineptitude to Will Muschamp heights and I have been shell-shocked ever since. Never did I expect McElwain's 2015 Gators to finish as meekly as they did. Hopefully some new talent back there at Qb and a hot shot or two freshman receiver will translate into better offensive production next season.
Luke Del Rio, Austin Appelby and two true freshmen early enrollees. Whoever comes out of that just can't be worse.....
The freshman you got from the Houston Area has never started a game in HS, he was stuck behind another QB who was highly rated. So he'll probably not be an option for a couple of years. Is Appleby the Purdue kid? If so he'll probably be game ready, will he be SEC game ready is the question.
I think if it's a frosh Qb that steps up it would be Franks. Who knows.... we may still be in deep doodoo. Will Grier's loss at Qb for us was and is a huge loss.
Unless Austin Appleby has hidden talent that didn't show at Purdue, he won't be your starter. If he is, you're in trouble, QB-wise.
Appleby can play. He's no Heisman candidate but he's capable. Purdue's problems go a lot deeper than QB. I wish him well.
Most Gator fans think it will either be Luke Del Rio or Feliepe Franks. Might just be wishful thinking that either one can do better than Harris. I know one thing.... if the offense doesn't improve it will be a long long season in 2016.
