Obama: “The Notion That My White House Would Purposely Release Classified National Security Information [For Political Gain] Is Offensive And Wrong”… Total ********, all the leaks have come from his White House (that’s a fact) and all portray Obama as being strong on national security. Via Politico: President Obama has shot back against accusations that White House officials leaked high-level national security information to the New York Times, calling the charges “offensive” and “wrong.” “The notion that my White House would purposely release classified national security information is offensive. It’s wrong,” he said during a press conference this morning. “People I think need to have a better sense of how I approach this office and how the people around me approach this office.” The President’s remarks follow accusations made earlier this week by Sen. John McCain and other Senate Republicans that the White House had leaked information about U.S. drones and cyberattack technology to “paint a portrait of the president of the United States as a strong leader on national security issues.” The FBI has launched an investigation into the sources of the leaks, and on Thursday a bipartisan group of lawmakers in both the House and Senate have called for an independent investigation into the matter.
Obama Mega-Donor Bill Maher Accuses Republicans of “Treason” For Opposing Obama Economic Agenda… Dissent will not be tolerated. Via Daily Caller: It’s been some time since a United States citizen was tried and convicted of treason, a crime that carries some serious penalties, according to the U.S. Code: Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. Perhaps HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher doesn’t realize the seriousness of such a charge. On his Friday program, Maher elaborated on the suggestion he made in a tweet that President Barack Obama’s opponents are guilty of treason for blocking his economic initiatives. Maher set up his explanation by reminding viewers of a gaffe Obama had made earlier in the day, when he said the private sector was “doing just fine,” and how his Republican opponents will use that statement against him from now until the election this fall.
American Traitor Jane Fonda Gushes Over Occupy: “I Say Right On! It’s An Important, Wonderful Movement”… Every America-hating leftists dream come true, being praised by Hanoi Jane. Jane Fonda, ‘Peace, Love and Misunderstanding’ Star, On The Occupy Movement and The Legacy Of ’9 To 5′ — HuffPo Huffington Post: Again, your character is a war protester. What’s your opinion of the Occupy movement? Jane Fonda: Right on! I say right on! It’s an important, wonderful movement. It doesn’t fit the mold. HP: Is that what you like about it? That it doesn’t fit the mold? Jane Fonda:I think that’s what allows it to be successful in its own way. Because it has no leader; it has no set of rules. But, the values are good and it makes a difference. And I say right on. HP: Your point about not having a leader is interesting. Jane Fonda:It limits the range if there’s a leader. This can occupy a big space on a lot of different areas, but the core value is, “What about democracy?” It’s about democracy and against greed.
Rep. Peter King describes Obama leaking classified information: “He’s trying to be like George Patton or John Wayne” You magnificent bastard. (FOX News) — A top House Republican on Sunday rejected President Obama’s claim that recent security leaks did not come from the White House, accusing the president of using the leaks — which detailed the administration’s counterterror programs — to “build up his reputation” before November. “He’s trying to be like George Patton or John Wayne,” Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News. The gloves-off accusations from the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee follow Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to appoint two U.S. attorneys to investigate possible unauthorized leaks of classified information. Since that announcement Friday, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called on the prosecutors to get to the bottom of recent newspaper stories that contained sensitive information on top-secret programs. They included reports on the campaign of cyber-warfare against Iran, the U.S. drone program and a foiled terror plot from an Al Qaeda affiliate. Obama on Friday assailed as “offensive” and “wrong” the idea that his White House would “purposely release” classified security information. But King, speaking with Fox News, said the leaks had to have come from the president’s inner circle. “This is the most shameful cascade of leaks I’ve ever heard or seen in government,” he said. “It’s clear from those stories this came right from the White House, came right from the National Security Council, came right from the Situation Room. … It has to lead to people very high up in the administration in his White House.” King, R-N.Y., alleged that the leaks must have been “approved from the top,” and accused the president of grandstanding in an election year. “I give him credit for a lot that he’s done on overseas terrorism. There’s no need, though, to put the nation’s security at risk by trying to build up his reputation for the presidential election in November,” he said.

Issa: Holder Not Complying, House To Hold Contempt Vote Tomorrow… Giddy up! Via Politico: House Republicans are charging head first into their most direct conflict with President Barack Obama’s administration over the extent of executive branch power, as they prepare to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress on Wednesday. Holder and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) failed to reach an agreement on what documents the administration would fork over to help Republicans investigate the Fast and Furious program, a joint Justice Department-Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives operation that put guns into the hands of Mexican cartels. >The two sides remained at loggerheads Tuesday evening, after a 20-minute huddle in Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s third-floor Capitol suite. Holder later called Issa’s position “political gamesmanship” and not a true attempt to resolve the dispute. After the session, Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said no deal was in hand and Wednesday’s vote would move forward, barring a last-minute reversal. The contempt fight with Holder and the White House is a big moment for House Republicans. With stubbornly high unemployment, a president with weak approval ratings, a redistricting process that has shored up Republican seats from coast to coast and a worse-than-expected economic recovery, GOP officials think they’re poised to keep the House in their control, and many believe they have a shot at taking the Senate and White House.

House Dem Breaks From Party, Plans To Vote For Holder Contempt…. Giddy up! Via Daily Caller: The Democratic Party’s resistance to holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress is crumbling. Utah Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson said Tuesday he plans to vote in favor of holding Holder in contempt over his refusal to comply with a subpoena into the Operation Fast and Furious scandal. “It just compounds the tragedy when both sides play politics instead of releasing the facts. The Terry family, the public and Congress deserve answers,” Matheson said in remarks first reported by the Salt Lake Tribune in his home state. “Sadly, it seems that it will take holding the attorney general in contempt to communicate that evasiveness is unacceptable.”
I thought I saw somewhere that the NRA is behind the push to get NRA-friendly Dems to vote against Holder. I don't know what the NRA's reasoning is.
Obama will throw holder under the bus very soon.....he is expendable....it's all about the election now....at any cost
This is the way that the Democrats got Nixon...through the Department of Justice and John Mitchell. Holder broke the law and covered it up. He's going down and the rats are deserting the sinking ship. We've seen this movie before. If Obama helped him to cover ANYTHING up...he'll go down the drain too; whether he wins the election or not...just like Nixon. You can't stab your own party in the back, then look for help when you get in trouble. Bill Clinton understood that. Nixon and Obama did not... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/27/house-democrat-breaks-ranks-to-back-holder-contempt-as-vote-looms/
I read the entire article. It's unsettling, to say the least. The combination of the permissiveness of AZ's gun law, the intransigence of the U.S. Attorney's office, the personal agendas of the disgruntled agents, primarily Dodson, the absence of integrity on the part of CBS, etc., all make me wonder why the ATF would even have bothered setting up an operation in AZ. It had no chance to be successful. The friend who told Voth that he was destined to fail obviously recognized the futility of the operation. If you believe what is written in this article, you have to shake your head in disbelief at the incompetence on all levels. I feel sympathy for Agent Terry's family.
 I also read the entire article and I thought it was the usual clever smokescreen to obscure what's really going on here... - Fast and Furious was a political operation directed from the Department of Justice. The men behind it were Holder and Obama. Their political ploy failed and it has caused a predictable political reaction from the Right. - What made this operation different from similar efforts in the past was it's purpose: to demonstrate that America's lax gun laws were a major cause of the violence in Mexico. Holder himself said that Americans needed to be "brainwashed" into demanding tighter gun laws. - If there is nothing to hide, then why did Obama issue a decree of "executive privilege" at Holder's request? Even the most far-Left Democrats were stunned by that development. Until that moment, they had simply assumed there was nothing to hide. Now they suspect the truth. - Holder is already going down regardless of what these hearings reveal. He has lied under oath at least twice; in the most serious incident, he sent a letter to Congress denying everything...even denying any knowlege of the operation...then admitting one YEAR later that his written statement had been false. He knew everything about this all along. - Obama is not shy about throwing his friends under the bus to protect himself. He's done it so many times before to keep his own skirts clean. What is he hiding? Why protect an AG who has already been caught red-handed lying under oath? At the beginning of this administration, Eric Holder warned the president that "The two of us need to keep our distance from one another." He was urging the president to trust him with politically sensitive matters, so that the president would have "deniability" in case a situation blew up on them... - An article like this one, about what happened on the ground with the agents, is missing the point intentionally. That's what CNN does. Neither side...right or left...wanted a border operation to blow up and get people killed. That's not what this fight is about. The Obama people, aka "The Amateurs" were running a Nixon-style political operation out of the Justice Department, using border agents and the Mexican people as pawns. When the thing blew up, they attempted to cover up the political purpose of the program and the other party is going to force them to admit that and/or go to jail. The Republicans have torn a page from the lib/Dems own playbook on this one. That's what this entire argument is about.
I don't have a political mindset. Consequently, I tend to take reports literally such as the one above. Reading JO'Co's post above, the political agenda he describes fits with my observations in the post above his. It now is easier for me to understand the government's agenda in setting up the operation in AZ and why the U.S. Attorney would not cooperate with the ATF agent-in-charge. My initial reaction to the article was confusion about why the operation was initiated in the first place. Now I'm just plain upset at the death of the agent and the setup of Voth in a no-win situation for the purpose of pursuing the government's agenda. What a crock.
gun control is a hot topic on both sides. The current administration took it upon themselves to circumvent the normal jusdicial process for this topic. They wanted to pull aces from their sleeves in this poker game and the table is going to be overturned and shots fired.
