We're getting near the trade deadline and the Boston Red Sox have been sleazing around the Dodger's Triple-A team at Las Vegas. The rumor is that the Sox are after the Dodger's hottest minor league prospect, 3B Andy LaRoche... What do the Red Sox have that we might want?
LOL! re: JD Drew What in God's name was Boston thinking when they signed JD Drew and Julio Lugo? Dodger Dogs were angry when Colletti tried to resign them! Tell you what Sox fans...have we got a deal for YOU! Hubba...hubba...hubba...! How about Andy LaRoche for one of your pitchers? How about...oh I don't know...just a wild guess really...how about Manny Delcarmen? Straight up for LaRoche! Now there's a deal you can't refuse...
Good news for folks in Ohio. Kenny Lofton was traded from the Texas Rangers to the Cleveland Indians today for a minor league catcher... There's actually good news and bad news. The good news is: this means that the Indians are going to try to win it this year. The bad news is: if the Indians past record of poor trades is any indicator, that minor league catcher will probably turn out to be Johnny Bench...
Given the recent detente on the board I let this go when I first read about it, but if we're talking about sleazing, well, I got your sleazing right here. Thank god we've got the Noo Yawk tabloids around to help keep unscrupulous businesses in line. Nothing like the light of public scrutiny to help them find their morals.
We'll keep DelCarmen, but how about Julian Tavarez? Sox could even throw in Mike Lowell in a sign-and-trade deal. You don't want Jacoby Ellsbury. He's not a Dodger type player.
Delcarmen is the only player the Sox have who could help the Dodgers and LaRoche is a phenom. That deal is a natural...
The point is: we need real pitchers. We already have guys like Tavarez. In fact, they had a meeting this week and determined that there aren't any available pitchers who're any better than the ones they already have. The only possible is that Octavio Dotel at KC. He's OK, but he won't solve the problem. Everybody needs pitching, so nobody is trading pitchers...
You'll probably never get a job with the NYC Chamber of Commerce  but , if you do be sure to include this with your visual presentation 8) http://newyork.areaconnect.com/crime/compare.htm?c1=New+York&s1=NY&c2=Boston&s2=MA
That makes two of us who'll "probably never get a job with the NYC Chamber of Commerce " (once again Georgie goes the personal route.) I'm not sure what any of that had to do with the Yankees, their fans and sleaze, but if we're talking about Yankee fans and crime in Boston... Yankee fans attack Boston firefighter Boy is that sleazy. I mean, WTF, firefighters? Who hates them? I bet the Yankee fans stole the car they were in, too.
You know, gangs wear Yankee hats routinely all over the country. That doesn't necessarily make them Yankee fans. What is personal about what I wrote? You offered up a visual suggesting New York is full of maggots. I offered up a someactual crime stats that show that, while NYC has its share of neerdowells, on balance you have a better chance of being victimized in Boston. I didn't compile the stats; take it up with the source.
Doesn't make them gang members either. So, they could be gang members, they could be Yankee fans, or they could - probably - be both. You harped on the issue of Red Sox and sleaze, offering nothing to support it. I posted a New York tabloid story depicting how the newspaper had to get involved to make the Yankees do the right thing and not sleaze out on helping a tourist that had been injured by a drunken Yankees fan (I know, redundant) in their stadium. Shame the tourists had to go to the press, but here we are. Who, other than you, brought up crime?
Ladieeeeeeeeeeeeeees and Gennnnnnnnnnnnntlemen. Lets get ready to rummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmble!!! In this corner, weighing in at...
Where do you live in NYC, Rick? Or do you live in Boston? Or do you live 3000 miles awy and just like perpetuating stereotypes?
Like you I "live in a small town; just a dot on the map...." and in neither Boston nor New York  I didn't realize that by calling the Yankee organization "sleazy" I was perpetuating a stereotype, but I won't argue.
Rick, In your case know that you are full of sh!t is you're first step on the road to recovery.
