I would like to see more than a weak-kneed "tee-hee" cop out KP. Here is the Alabama schedule this coming year: 9/4 SAN JOSE STATE 9/11 PENN STATE 9/18 at Duke 9/25 at Arkansas 10/2 FLORIDA 10/9 at South Carolina 10/16 OLE MISS 10/23 at Tennessee 10/30 open 11/6 at LSU 11/13 MISSISSIPPI STATE 11/20 GEORGIA STATE 11/26 AUBURN With careful thought....and honesty......which do you think is the toughest ticket in Tuscaloosa this season? Keep in mind Stub Hub will tell the tale when the season comes around.
Actually Scott.....the Bama-Fla game will arguably be the most media hyped.....toughest ticket in the SEC this season provided neither team slips up before the game. Just received my season ticket renewal info and it inspired me to muse about what might be that game in the SEC this year. Annual rivalries still generate top interest for respective teams but the end of season events of the last two years make this year's Bama-UF game a little more special than it otherwise might have been.
Scott, I think the Bama-UF game will one of the toughest tickets in the country to get actually. I think it's a relevant topic......in the slow time of the year for CFB. Which Big 12 game do you think will be the toughest ticket to get?
Texas/OU will be the toughest ticket to get. But there are tough tickets all over the country. I'd bet that ND/Michigan will be as tough a ticket to get as UF/Alabama and I'd bet that Mich/OSU will be as tough as UF/Bama. ND/USC could be as tough, depending on how those two teams fair in 2010.
All tough tickets Terry.....but those teams haven't been playing national championship qualifiers the last two years running. I think that has turned up the heat for next year especially considering that Bama is going to be everyone's #1 ranked team and Florida will be top 5 if they are still unbeaten at that point.....which is early enough to be ( Oct. 2nd). Add it all up and it should one helluva tough ticket to get. I thought about USC-ND......if ND turns it around....but the game is in SouCal in a huge stadium in a city that can find other things to do on a Saturday. Texas-OU is always a tough ticket but a new cast of characters and most likely lower rankings awaits. Michigan-OSU is annually a great rivalry but Michigan has somewhat diminished the intensity level I think by not being competitve heading into the game and therefore the intense demand for a ticket isn't there presently.
I looked and found this for the 2007 season. According to this article for the 2007 season the toughest tickets were 1. Penn St. vs ND 2. Ohio St. vs Mich 3. ND vs USC 4. Mich vs ND 5. Boston College vs ND I see a pattern here! Of course that was then and this season has no relation to that season. But still are you suprised that 4 out of the top 5 games involved ND? I couldn't find one for last year. I'll keep looking though. Toughest tickets for 2007 Prediction: If Brian Kelly restores the Irish, big games involving ND will be tougher tickets again than big games involving UF .
Forbes article regarding the 2009 season. Top ticket-USC vs. ND. http://www.forbes.com/2009/08/10/college-football-tickets-business-sports-stubhub_slide_2.html Guess if I ever need a loan, best to talk with the Irish deep pockets guys on Skybox....
Just discussing what might be.....the toughest ticket. As George says...slow football days in Tampa.... Terry.....precisely. 2007 and 2008 or 09 were different years. This year's Bama-Fla game is not in a neutral site like Atlanta....it's in one of the hotbeds of college football and the home team's rabid fans have extra added incentive of having a #1 ranked team going against another highly ranked team that has seen enormous conference and national success in recent years. It's a recipe for a tough ticket. Hey....if ND roars back under Kelly the game with USC will be an equally tough ticket.....I'll grant you that but it would be more so if the game were in South Bend.
The so-called "tough tickets" are based on anticipation more than reality. For that reason, the Alabama-Penn State game will be an early tough ticket. If Florida's and Alabama's early seasons go well, that game also will be a tough ticket. And so on and so on. The toughest tickets for 2010? there is no reliable way to predict that in March, but such a fact has never prevented MCG from promoting his Gators.
I'll check Stub Hub at some point....that tells a pretty reliable story about what is the toughest ticket.
The toughest Ticket since 1962 is and has been Nebraska season tickets. Someone has to bequeath them to you.
I believe that. I did a little research and the second toughest ticket in Nebraska, year in and year out is
I think the toughest ticket in Alabama will be the Auburn game. It almost always is, however about 10 years ago my brother-in-law was able to get 10 tickets to the Auburn game in Auburn because a client of his had tickets (corporate) and refused to step foot in the town of Auburn, Alabama. Penn State and Florida would be right up there, but I tell you what I will tell everyone I know that they can only hate Florida. Okay?
