They took the redshirt off that kid to bench Harper. Harper was the pre-season ACC player of the year. How did he get bad all of a sudden? I know after Bama whipped em, Bowden called Saban for advice about his team... I'd never even heard of that before. Maybe he spent too much time admiring Kyle Parker's tight baseball pants? http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2008/04/03/tommy-bowden-is-checking-you-out/
EDSBS always has a unique prospective! I wonder how they'll feel when the Vols can Fulmer and hire Steve Spurrier!!
PJ, I don't think I've ever heard the kid say he didn't make mistakes. We're talking about the man in charge chucking kids under the bus to further his own career. I have loathed all of the Bowden's and Tubberville for more than a decade now. I long for a college football world without them... We're almost there.
How about this for a wild rumour. Rodriguez hasn't signed his contract with Michigan and they could go 2-10 this year (it's possible). Rodriguez bolts after 1 season at UM for the friendly confines of Clemson? Could happen!!
I read an article in Sporting News where the writer is suggesting that they look at Lane Kiffin, Bill Cowher, the Vanderbilt coach (Bobby Johnson, a Clemson alum), Tuberville, and the TX D-coordinator. (Muschamp?).
I do wonder when or if Bill Cowher will return to football. I think though he would more likely go back to the NFL. As far as Tubberville, I don't know why anybody would hire that poser. Will Muschamp the DCoord at Texas is an interesting guy, he's young and dynamic for sure. No experience as a HC of course, but that didn't hurt Bob Stoops. The previous DCoord at Texas (also a young dynamic former Auburn DCoord) took the Iowa State job where he'll likely see his career as a HC be very short and painful. But the Clemson job is a very good job and a guy can win at Clemson.
I see Cowher at NCState....he is an alum, lives now in Raleigh and has a nice beach crib just around the corner from me. The fallout at State from Butch Davis success in Chapel Hill is going to create a groundswell to draft Cowher. Once his daughters leave home, I think the last one will graduate in a year or so, look for Bill to want to be the head coach at his alma mater. You heard it here first.....
