What happens when trying to access the sites? My first thought is "security" setting. I am assuming PC, not Mac. Also assuming the latest Internet Explorer version.

Diane, If this is Internet Explorer and is anywhere near the latest version, Click on "Tools", select "Internet Options", then select the tab for "Security". I would bet that somehow your Internet security has been set to a higher level than it was before.

re: JO'Co is using the navigation system on his new car, because he's probably wandering around lost somewhere.

BS. I was sitting in a barber shop for over three hours, because my Mexican barbers decided to serve every Mexican on this side of the border rather than the fuzzy old, Irish dude. Well guess what? The fuzzy old Irish dude is the only guy in town who tips the barber, but not this time. Not only did I refuse to pay a tip, I also insisted on receiving the senior discount that I'm entitled to. They'll remember me next time...

    re: Internet Explorer

It's an Internet Explorer problem all right, but I can't figure it out. I went to "Tools-Internet Options-Security" and I lowered the security level to it's lowest setting for websites, but there was no change. Is there any way that I can undo the last Explorer update? I tried Firefox too and that won't let me in either and Diane's computer is the same. The warning we get on a blank page is,
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage "

Mozilla Firefox also good and also free. Have used it for a long time.

Don't completely remove explorer, though...there are a (very) few web sites that only work correctly with explorer.

    Jim and Di,

If it's the page I'm thinking of, it's happened to me. At times, I keep trying and eventually I am able to connect with the intended site. In a couple of instances, I've reloaded the url and it works. It's a pain.

    Jim/Di,

I just remembered... I had an issue like this with my work computer. The fix was to clear the history, temp files, cache, etc.

What version of IE do you have.

Cindy's new computer is on IE 9. With that version:

Tools -> Safety -> delete browsing history

    George,

    :D

    All,

Firefox is a great browser but it's a massive resource hog. You don't nuke IE. Keep it, just don't use it. Chrome is so much sleeker and faster that you won't believe it.

So far, nothing has worked. I also brought my school laptop home and that won't connect to Schwab or ND Nation either.

I tried restoring my computer back to where it was on 11-11-11, but that didn't work either.

Running out of ideas, but I still haven't erased history and passwords. I'm trying to avoid that...

If this is happening on two different computers, I would contact the individual sites. It would not hirt though to download a different browser like Corey suggested. I have some sites that will not work with Safari but will work with Firefox. Try that to see if you can get to the sites.

Go to the RUN script...type in %Temp%....then delete all files......then just type in TEMP...and delete all files.

I found a computer that works. In the other room, my son Eric left his computer there when he moved out. When I turned it on, all kinds of notices came up, telling me that the computer needed to be updated. I ignored them all and just went to the Schwab and NDNation websites. There was no problem, but I still can't get into those sites on my computer, Diane's computer or my laptop from school...

sometimes an ISP can flag sites but I can't believe that's the issue here.

take the jump, go Chrome. You're welcome.

Before any updates happen on that computer, notify the sites with which you are having difficulties. If an update is causing this, surely there are thousands more that are having the same issue. Their webmaster should be able to come up with a fix.

For most people, I recommend turning off updates just for this reason.

I had that problem a while back and I think it might have been as simple as a pop up blocker was on.
