Frigging Canes are running around like headless nudnicks !!!...here comes Texas AM averaging a million yards russhing per game so soon in the season again before national TV.......who the hell scheduled this insanity? Oh sh*t........please keep it close.....let it rain....have a diareah outbreak for the Aggies.....let them forget their uniforms......land at the wrong airport........DO SOMETHING !!! _________________
I don't know what to think about this game. Clearly OU abused the Hurricane defense, but OU has both a rushing game and a passing game. I'm not sure Texas A&M has much of a passing game, which would allow Miami to put 8 men in the box and challenge the Aggies. I'm not sure A&M is quite up to the WVA level when it comes to the option portion of their Spread/Option though, they are good but not spectacular. Could be a very good game. I'm picking the Aggies though.
 Ex Coach Larry Coker's recruiting blunders are the Cane's starters of today.....meaning I have no confidence that we can play any top 25 team this season. Miami has no QBs but a pair of recent runners in Cooper and James but the offensive production is weak. Dunno but I am not boasting of a win until I see something far more real than the bloodbath in Norman Oklahoma
A&M.. <t>Should have lost the Fresno game if the moron that lost the fumble uses two hands going to the goal line at the end of the first overtime but we all know what happened there. I would hate to be forced to bet on this one but I'll take the Aggies by three.<br/> <br/> If they lose Scott will be in a Fran meltdown Friday morning as will my son-in-law.</t>
Scott will be at the Orange Bowl for the game tonight. I hope he doesn't get beatup by some of those ruffians down there!
I've no idea which team wins. However, looking at their offensive strengths - run vs pass - one should expect a short, quick game.
Wow. Did A&M look terrible, or what? They had played ULaLa, Fresno State and Montana State and Miami was so much faster on both sides of the ball, that the Ags looked like they were standing still. Scott is not going to be a happy camper...
We won't know if Scott encountered any ruffians himself but his team was certainly mugged. I am however envious that they scored a touchdown!
Thus the argument against opening the season with a series of cupcakes. When you finallt do play a team with some life in it you may not be ready.
Sometoimes with an established older team I think playing cupcakes early on can be a detriment as they get lulled to sleep and even play down to the level of the opponent. In Florida's case this year however I am happy with the way things started out for a team with so many new starters. WKU was just a team with live bodies on the other side of the line and then Troy, the probable Sun Belt conference champion, was a graduated step up in level of play from the first game until the real deal came last Sat. vs Tenn. Cupcakes in Nov. are always a good break from a tough schedule and I like that a team catches a little break sometimes at the right time.
I ... <t>Posted after OU mugged the Canes that I thought Shannon would do a good job there and still feel that way with the players available to them. They appear to be well coached most of the time and what I like is when one of the ingrates does do something stupid Shannon goes mini-ballistic on the sidelines and is in their faces.<br/> As for A&M I hate to talk with my son-in-law later this morning. At least he has that seven week old stud baby boy to take his mind off Fran's program. Yikes what a butt kicking that was.</t>
Thursday nights my bowling night so I didn't get to see all the game, but what I did see was pretty impressive for Miami. I still believe that given time both Randy Shannon and Charlie Weis are going to be successful. Good win for Miami last night.
I guess we found out last night that A&M is not Oklahoma. I see the attendance was 44,000. Is that good or bad for Miami?
 Bill.....how do you lump Randy Shannon in with Weis?.....you gotta be kidding. Even at Miami's worst.....it never comes close to a team that can't score a TD and is on its way to probably 0-8 We'll see how far fetched your "lumping" phrase is when the Canes meet the Gators next season........I'll be there. How about making the correct statement that A&M is a clear and convincing arguement for not having preseason polls.......no polls until October will far more real FIU was a tougher foe and they are 0-3 like ND.....except that they score TDs and would beat A&M and ND right now. Also, did you watch Miami Northwestern beat Texas Carrol on ESPN National tv last Saturday nite?.........all the star players in that team are already pledged to Miami.....Shannon is going to load up on talent perhaps like no other former Cane head coach has in the past....and that is saying a lot from a team that has the most number of first round NFL players the last 15 years. Things look good.......asides from a spanking by a powerful and likely #1 Oklahoma.........I see Miami improving every week.
