Well times are hard and people are struggling but capitalism is hard at work. My wife and I partnered up with two other couples and opened up a local produce and gifts house north of Arcadia Florida. We bought this house and 3 acres for 50K after it had sold for 290K one year earlier and went on the courthouse steps to be sold for not paying their taxes. The house was built in 1905 and needed much work and repair which is what we have been doing every moment we are awake. Saturday was our grand opening and it exceeded our expectations with lots of traffic in the store. We did very well with our produce that is mostly locally grown and gifts the woman made up around the store. I don't know if this throws me into the 1% club which I highly doubt but I would love to have my son protest our LLC if it meant we were doing that good... One of the fringe benefits is the great food we get to take home such as Amish bacon, fresh strawbery/orange juice blend, white eggplants, green tomatoes to be fried and asparagus we made up for dinner tonight... If your in the area let me know and I will sneak off from my full time job to give you a tour of my part time investment... Ralph
Ralph, that is fantastic. Congratulations and best of luck to you. If we get to the area on any of our trips down that way you can bet we'll stop by....outstanding!
Beautiful building. The best of good fortune to you and your partners, Ralph. I have a strong feeling that you will enjoy great success.
Thank you all for your great comments, this should work because people really want and appreciate great produce that is fresh and affordable for their families. If we can survive the dimensions of a three way partnership then we should be OK... RC
 Wow! That is exactly the kind of place that my wife and I love to visit when we're roaming around. You can bet that we'll drop in when we're there!
wow ... the American Dream come true.. I am so very happy for you.... it looks like one of the stores Jim and I love to go to we are very mom and pop when traveling... I wish you all the success and happiness with your "side" venture
Raloh, Congrats! Gip says he'll be there, keep a watch out for a delivery person that shows up unexpectedly. That happens from time to time in Florida. 8)
