OK citizens of the Republic of Texas it's time to pony up at the grocery store. I just loaded our first truck load of peaches headed for the lonestar state. We sent 14,000 lbs out yesterday to go to H.E.B. grocery in Houston and San Antonio and were asked to send an additional 15,000 by Tuesday of next week....If you get the chance our peaches are labeled under the Florida Sweet brand and will soon be in a store near you...
Ralph, do you deliver to the Midwest, specifically to Indiana? If so, I would buy your peaches to help put food on your table.
We have not gone in that direction yet, we made it to Cincinnati a few weeks ago on a trial basis but sales have not been spectacular in the area, but the bulk of our production has been Florida, Alabama, recently Georgia and arriving in Texas this weekend. We currently service Walmart, Whole Foods, Winn Dixie, HE Butts, Sweetbay and other grocer chains. Not bad for an idea that started 7 years ago as I looked to diversify from our diseased citrus that unfortunately seems destined to go the way of the Dodo in Florida, Texas and California... Sid I could mail you some but peaches don't travel as nicely as citrus, I appreciate you trying to put our food on your table so I can put some on mine...
what's your Alabama distributorship look like? I'll keep an eye out. I go through fruit like Oprah goes through cheesecake.. My son will literally put down a crate in 2 days.
You gotta send 'em up to DFW if you want me to get a taste Ralph! My wife makes great pies and cobblers... so if you could I'd be much fatter.
