I came across this in a ESPN Insider article on hyped QB's, it says that Tebow had a lights out Spring Game. Obviously that is a good thing from a depth standpoint. But is there any ground swell online from Gator fans for Tebow to be the starter next fall, QB controversy in the making??

I've seen Tebow on TV in different games and I was very, very impressed. My bet is that Urban won't hestitate to pull the trigger if Leak has one of his bad days and will he will pull the trigger for good on the second bad day...

Wouldn't that be ironic? One leake feels he got screwed at Tennessee so the second one goes to Florida and may lose out to a better QB just like his brother did at Tennessee. If that happens, the Gators will see the other side of old man Leake.

I can't imagine that a coach would replace a proven senior leader at a key skill position with an untested freshman -spring game or no spring game - unless the senior absolutely tanked or was arrested for a serious crime. I'm impressed with Meyers' comments. He called the situation accurately and still sent a message to Tebow that he'd better be prepared to compete.

Tebow had first and second string WRs to throw to while Leak had the scrubs in the spring game.

It's no secret that Leak is and will remain the Qb for his senior season.

Here's an article on the subject:

One thing to remember is that Leak has won in Tallahasse, Jacksonville twice vs. Ga. and in Baton Rouge vs. eventual national co-champ LSU and actually was at the helm in two ref-marred games in which I of course feel he should have won...one vs. FSU in Gainesville in 2003 and one in 2004 in you-know-where vs. you-know-who.

I was at the spring game and was very impressed with Tebow. However don't look for him to displace Chris Leak. Look for him to get playing time and experience but not to be the starter in my humble opinion.

One of Tebow's strength is his running and neither he or Leak were allowed to be tackled. They had on red jersey's and only had to be touched for the whistle to be blown. I did like way Tebow ran and think his rushing yardage would have been pretty good if not for the limitations.

Tebow also had much the better recievers on his team and much of the first string players were held out.

While he looked good it sure does't set up a possible situation for pulling Leak in my opinion.

And I must say this, whatever people might feel about Leak, he has been nothing but a class act at Florida. He's a team player all the way.
