Says he's been playing through neck pain, possibly a bulging disk, and can no longer play with it.

If he has another surgery and misses the rest of the summer or longer. I have to wonder if he'll ever be even close to the same player he was before getting a 3 iron to the head or what ever.

I said last year that I didn't think he'd win a major last year, and might be a few years before he wins another one. I now wonder if he'll ever win another major. His game was a finely tuned mental and physical dominance over his peers. With that now gone, I wonder if he'll ever get it back again. I think back to Bjorn Borg being clearly the best player in the world and thought he'd hang it up, after financial setbacks he tried to come back but he could never regain that mental and physical edge he had over his peers.

Do you think it was the 3-iron or the 7 that caused the bulging disc?

CONGRATS TO TIMMY CLARK ON HIS FIRST WIN!!

LOL...good question A.J. maybe that pain in his neck was him sliding down the leader board. :)

I found watching this afternoon a roller coaster ride. I sat down wanting to see Lee Westwood finally get a big win, then they showed Robt Allenby getting emotional talking about his mum passing away last year and wearing pink to honor her and I started pulling for Allenby. Finally when they showed Clark pulling off the birdie run I made my last allegiance switch and pulled for Clark the rest of the way. Has he smiled yet?

I wonder if there is some chemical element to the fact that Tiger seems to be breaking down physically. Knee and then the neck.....I'm just sayin'

I wonder how much of this is mental / physical, or combination of both.

Time may give us the answer.

Hank Haney resigns as Tigers swing coach.

I wonder where Tiger goes now? I can't see him going back to Butch Harmon that's for sure, no matter what Johnny Millers said. I have to assume that besides Tigers golf swing going south right now, that there is just so much negativity swirling around Tiger that he's not a fun guy to be around anymore.

He needs to make a clean break. Haney is doing him a favor. he needs to turn all the corners of his life and start fresh.

He should have never held that press conference; never came back to play this year and never made that stupid NIKE commercial. All three decisions blew up in his face.

Get your personal family issues resolved. Get your self completely healthy. Find a new coach with a fresh perspective. Come back next year or whenever you're damn well ready.

He's still the best golfer out there and will be again if he can get it together.
