My niece Megan and her St. Lucy's Volleyball squad will play for their first ever CIF Championship.. Article and goofy picture of Megan included http://www.insidesocal.com/tribpreps/2010/11/football-playof-1.html
Definitely a real competitor! Good luck to them in the Finals! Seems like the O'Connors are always going up against Chino for something...back in the day it was JO'Co's Montclair team vs Chino Red!
That's a good point Terry. I always made a point out of burying them, but to their credit, they always seemed to play us for the Area championship in baseball.. They took some beatings from us (Chad Cordero once went entire years without being able to get out of an inning against us), but they always came back for more. It's a good area.. and let's not forget that JOCO himself was from Chino
8) Three girls on this year's St. Lucy's team have received full ride scholarships to play college volleyball: 1. Megan Callen- North Florida 2. Alissa Young- Sacred Heart 3. Dee Dee Dalton- West Point Here is Megan in action last year as a junior. Her father is to blame for the music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-0mpStuiAs Big signing day in the San Gabriel Valley... http://www.insidesocal.com/tribpreps/2010/11/-bonitas.html
Very impressive and congratulations. So how much time do you think that the family will be in Jacksonville to watch her?
:?: I don't know, we haven't figured that out yet. If I'm going to go that far, I also want to stop in Alabama to see Corey and my grandson Carson. I hear that he's quite an athlete too, so I need to spend some quality time there, poisoning his mind, so that he doesn't wind up at Auburn or that other public school down there... ........Go Irish...Grandpa
 WOW! Congrats to my granddaughter, Megan Callen, and her teammates. They WON the CIF Championship for girl's volleyball before a sell-out crowd at Cypress College today. Tiny St. Lucy's Priory HS, with only 675 students, pulled it off against a public school four times their size! When the situation appeared to be hopeless, with her team down one game to nothing and her opponents at set point, Megan saved the day with a block and a point that turned the situation upside-down. She played every playoff game this month with a fractured thumb that will be set later. Wow, wow, wow, wow... http://sgvtribune.mycapture.com/mycapture/folder.asp?event=1121070&CategoryID=27233&ListSubAlbums=0&thisPage=3
