    I watched the entire talk. He makes a strong case for nuclear. It'll be interesting to see if this field of thought gains traction here in the U.S. Not sure I'll be around to know, but I hope for the sake of my kids and grandkids and beyond that the right decisions are made.

    Sid... Thorium reactors are something that should be getting a HARD look.
    They are MUCH safer, and also the fuel is much easier to obtain, and dispose of...

    Speaking of disposal of nuclear waste, the story of Yucca Mountain is a classic case of the ripping off of the American taxpayer and a politician (Harry Reid) bringing home the bacon. The condensed version is that tens of millions were spent to convert Yucca Mt. into a nuclear disposal site. After construction was basically completed, the Obama administration decided to scrap the program. Harry got all that construction money into Nevada and then they didn't have to take the waste. Nuclear plants still have no national depository for their waste. Meanwhile Reid retired with millions.
