Found these on the internet. Wonderlic test results for a group of incoming QBS into the NFL. I assume they are authentic.
Vinve Young bombed on that test last year and ended up having a great rookie season. I wonder if the creator of the test ever dealt with a blitzing linebacker ready to tear his head off.
When I see Chris Leake at an 8, I have to wonder what was the deal. Vince scored very low because he didn't do any prep for the test. I wonder if Chris also just blew it off. I don't think 8 is likely what he'd score if he tried.
I'm shocked that an MSU athlete outscored the other QBs. He must have cheated. Do you agree, Bobda?
Here's link to the site that has the scores, note that Leak's is blank. My understanding is that Leak scored 8/12 on the 12 question test and hasn't taken the longer test. I can not say for sure this is true but it makes some sense.
John McLain of the Houston Chronicle wrote an article about a week ago and said the NFL needs to can that test. That it doesn't prove anything about a QB's or other players ability to succeed in the NFL. All we have to do is look at Bradshaws 15 score and 4 Super Bowl rings. Either you have it as a football player or you don't. Plus as I said it makes a difference if you prepare for the test, and last year Vince Young did not prepare for the test. Clearly VY has a good enough football IQ and I would imagine that Chris Leake is much more intellgent than that 8.
GB, where is the link? In doing some web browsing, I see that Dan Marino's score was 13. I think he had a solid career. Sid, LOL. I'm pondering what our offensive coordinator would score if he took the test.
Here's a link to the same site where the guy who runs the site has a blog and he says Leak's score is based on 12 questions and was a campus test. He isn't going to post Leak's score again until he takes the 50 question test. More on Chris Leak's Score
That's a good article Stu. When you were in practice did you use tests in evaluating your prospective employees? I've been hiring for 30+ years and never used them. I have friends that always use tests and they don't have any better hit rate for good employees than I do. In fact I have better than average hit rate.
