    1. Alabama and Ohio State seem to have seperated themselves again from the rest of college football. No guarantee that it will stay that way but right now they are the clear #1 and #2.

    2. Boise thumps Wyoming, which they will have to continue to do to maintain their position.

    3. Texas, Fla, and Oklahoma all win to go to 3-0 but they all look vulnerable hardly seems likely an undefeated team will come from these 3.

    4. Neb absolutely creams what I thought was going to be a good UW team. They made Jake Locker look like a tomato can, and there offense just bulldozed over the Huskies. Those guys are all probably filing accident reports right now...."no officer I did not get the number of the truck that ran over me, but it was read and smelled like a corn field!! ". It will be interesting to see if the Huskers jump OU and Texas in the rankings.

    5. Oregon, those guys are just running up and down the field on offense. They look like the class of the Pac10, they are avg over 50pts a game...basketball on grass? Next up ASU and Stanford those two games should tell us if they are for real.

    6. Stanford, not suprisingly spanked Wake Forrest. Next up a reeling ND team in South Bend. Harbaugh hates the Irish, he will have his team up for that game. I fear the Cardinal.

    7. Houston Cougars, just the medicine that the UCLA Bruins needed to get their football team well again before heading to a big game in Austin Tx.

    8. Watching Mike Stoops on the Az sideline is like watching a Volcano, when will it erupt. He is one animated angry guy over there! But his team came through at the end and handed an Iowa team that some thought had an outside chance of being the B10 Champion since they get the Buckeyes at home. Of course they can still be that, but that was a solid win by BDR's Wildcats.

    9. While we are talking Pac10 was there a more embarassing loss than the beat down that Nev put on CAL? People are always saying what a great coach Tedford is and he seems to always have some great offenses but they are so inconsistent and lose games they really shouldn't lose. No disrespect to Nev a good team.

    10. Lot of Big 10/Pac 10 matchups and it looked like the Pac10 was the better league this weekend.

    11. Can't make a list without wondering how Scott88's heart survived the come from behind victory over FIU!! :)

    12. There is no such thing as the Luck of the Irish!

....note to Terry from AJ....it wasn't a truck....

...IT WAS A TRAIN.....THE BIG RED TRAIN!!! :D

My favorites to play for the NC:

    Ohio State
    Oregon
    Nebraska
    Boise State

Two out of the above four will be unbeaten.

If Bama also manages to be unbeaten not one of the above teams has even a chance of beating the Tide....mark it down.

But I doubt Bama can go 13-0 and 2 of the above 4 will.

Mark Neb off that list, as great as they have played so far this year...they still have to face the Texas defense!! :)

Got to watch a pretty entertaining Ark-Ga. game yesterday. Mallet and the hogs host the Tide next weekend. Could be a real good matchup.

    Well... That was "something"...

The AP wire article doesn't tell the real story. I'm glad I was there, cuz that was a weird game.

I will say this: I'm not ready to bring back the name Wrecking Crew just yet... but after about 10 years we finally have something that can truly be called a defense.

Here's a stat for you. Until their final drive (which was finally stopped on downs after about 60 yards) the FIU offense had managed only one drive that was OVER 30 yards, and that drive was 33yds on one run just before the half that did not lead to a score.

So... entering the 4th quarter, the Aggies are losing 20-7 and have not given up a drive that is over 25 yards!!!

FIU had a great game plan... They knew if they sat back in a base defense, we'd rack up our customary 500 yards, and 40+ points in a snoozer.
So they blitzed. EVERY PLAY. I'm not joking either.
They blitzed EVERY PLAY. We weren't ready for that, and it showed.
Couple that with JJ missing open receivers (when we did manage to protect) by 3 to 5 yards, and it wasn't pretty.
Early in the game, they blitzed, we picked it up, and we had T McCoy wide open behind the D with no safeties... easy TD.
Nope. JJ hummed it over him by at least 5 yards.
The next play he missed again... right to an FIU player.
    Huge swing.
    That happened OVER and OVER.
Finally at the end of the 3rd we started to figure it out. RUN RIGHT AT THEM.
It paid off in the 4th. They were in blitz overdrive, and both Christine Michael, and Cyrus Gray were able to clear the line... with no one left to catch them.

NOTE: If you ever play a Sunbelt team, don't use their refs. Worst officiating I've seen in a long time.
    Ex:
After one of JJ's many INT's an FIU LB blind-sided one of our OL's a good 2 to 3 seconds after the whistle... 50 yards away from the ball. The Ref even helped the OL up... but didn't throw a flag for the cheap shot.
That actually fired up the team and the crowd quite a bit.

This game is my first real evidence that the Fran residue is gone.
The kids NEVER quit, and even tho NOTHING went our way for most of the game, they found a way to win.
Now we've got to learn to beat the blitz, and get JJ on target again before the real schedule starts.

Arkansas was in a battle yesterday while Bama was in a powder puff game.

Bama will be ready for the Hogs and wins by 2 TDs......38-24.

Yesterday SC played Furman and next week they are at Auburn in a tough one but then they have two weeks to get ready for the Tide.

Next week Bama plays Arky and then has to contend with at least a team that should be willing to make them work a little....the Gators while the Gamecock's Spurrier is scheming and planning for two weeks.

Chances are also that he worked on Bama just a little this past week as he is known for doing things like that.

SC should be very tough for Bama but not so much the Hogs.

Congrats to BDR's Cats...what a game of big plays/breaks.....that is a very good Iowa team that they overcame down in the desert. They hung on and took advantage of their opportunities. Well done....

Special teams - specifically coverage - continue to plague the Buckeyes. A blocked punt and a KO return for a touchdown - subsequently called back but still.... again this weekend. WTF?

On the good side, TP set an all-time Buckeye record with 16 consecutive completions showing continued progress in his decision-making, following his progressions and ability to check down.....the one he missed was probably the easiest one of the lot. He may turn into a QB yet....

Defense is just nasty.....getting beat up though, we have guys dropping like flies and not a whole lot of quality depth. It's long season, a marathon, not a sprint.

Some great down to the wire games this weekend.....AZ/Iowa, Wisky/ASU, ND/MSU, Clemson/AU good stuff....UT/UF game was entertaining, it seems as if Urbie has a real dilemna on his hands....the QB or the offense?

    Gip, you mean Akron, right?

Could it be that they've all been on Nebraska's schedule at one time or another? Or another BCS team's schedule?

Actually Sid you are looking at the schedule of next weeks Big Ten opponents. Ill. has perhaps the toughest week they have a bye. Oh and speaking of Nebraska, they fit right in with their Big Ten brothers, they'll be playing South Dakota State.

    Buckeye Terry,

I have yet to see any information on how serious the injuries were to our two safeties.

Next couple of game may prove to be rather boring, but one never knows?

Right now, I'd say the best team in the Pac10 is Stanford..

Oregon is a somewhat distant 2nd with Zona 3rd.

Well.....I know Stanford is doing very well but Oregon destroyed Tenn. and everyone else they have crossed.

Tenn. isn't a good team but it was their worst home loss in a long time.

    These Ducks aren't quacks!

    :D

LOL....You ND guys go hump a tomato....tamato...whatever....remember the rule ladies....don't hate the team....hate the coach you decided to hire....it took us 2 after Osborne....at least Frankie had us playing for the NC at least once before his demise.....that was funny though gipper.....

BTW.....After a surprisingly close game to SDSU....yes the Jackrabbits....Don't ANYONE be surprised if the Wildcats pull the Trick on NU at Home in 2 weeks. At least we'll be 4-1 and closer to bowl eligibilty than some on this board.....

Remember, I used to Box....my style was counterpunching....

BTW.....To my future Inlaws......WTF.....Can a future B10 brother get some help here?......shhheeessshhhhh....I've been on my own so long since Murray Tristch and Bugeater Brown.....I don't know who my friends are anymore....

Hey AJ I followed that up by saying Bama would beat any of those 4 teams if given the opportunity.

I just don't feel that Bama can go unscathed......and with a W-L record of 28-0 over two seasons.

For the record, I would like for it to be noted that I agree with MCG. That's one!
