The Longhorns are starting to look like the catalyst in Neb leaving for the Big Ten. Granted....NU to the Big 10 and Col to the PAC 10 seems to make sense but what's left is now a diluted conference with a greasy slide into the BCS Title game. I suspect BCS voters will heavily scrutinize the non-con schedules of Tex and OU more than ever.
Mack likes the new conference, he likes eliminating the Championship game, the Basketball coach likes playing everybody home/home, the baseball coach likes it as well. Seems like all the coaches like the new smaller B12 and the schedule. Also there might be a trend towards everybody playing at least one major national team in non-conference. Mack likes it
It occurs to me that this is really going to make the Aggies' future scheds pretty tough. In 2014 we will be playing nine Big 12 conference games and Arkansas, leaving us with 2 non-cons. One of those is already committed to Oregon. After home and home with Oregon we pick up USC. So I'll have one directional patsy and the rest are "real" games. Hey, my tickets are actually worth the printing! I better not hear any sniping about that sched... no matter what shape those teams are in at that time!
We ND guys hear ya, Scott. In the past, we have scheduled teams as much as 10 years into the future based on how good they were at the time of the scheduling. Then by the time we played them, their program had gone downhill. The time frame from now until 2014 is short enough that your opponents should be at their present levels.
...yeah...who knew Conneticutt wouldn't be any good by the time you played em....no...wait..... ...and then.....because I have to beat Gipper to it.....who knew Charleston Southern would slip so much by the time they got to Gainesville....
