Mack has dumped the spread and will be going back to the offense he had when he first arrived in Austin and ran with Applewhite and Simms. QB will be under center and the running game will be in play again.

Garrett Gilbert had an excellent spring and Fozzy Whittaker and Tre Newton seem to be poised to take over in the running game. Texas actually has TE's and will use them.

Longhorn defense looks poised to have a great year.

Texas should be a top 5 team to start the year.

New QB's Connor Wood and Case McCoy (yes Colt's bro) both showed some good this spring, but also showed they were raw freshman. Wood is the guy everybody expects to be a top QB.

That's interesting, is it because of personnel or a change in philosophy?

I think it's going back to the old philosophy to get some production from TB's. If you remember Mack had Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson and Jamall Charles. All 1st round draft picks. They only went to the Spread inorder to let Vince be Vince. They continued with Colt but as time went on they just lost their running game. They want to get back to that.

Garrett Gilbert is a big kid and probably would do well with the Read/Option style of the spread but they would most likely continue to have poor production in the running game.

I guess we'll see if that "Fat dog" offensive line can actually drive block after years of back-pedaling.
