It looks like teams like Texas may have a chance after all. Like we all thought, auburn was clearly not the #2 team in the country. If West Virginia didnt have such a cup-cake schedule, it would be totally up in the air.

With UCS ( Like I have said, very vunerable) barely pulling out a win against Wash., My gators should put themselves at #2. Btw those who havent had a chance to witness the future of gator football (Tebow)..hes the real deal :D

2 down...2 to go. Auburn dosen't look good. As for Georgia..we will have to wait and see which Bulldog team shows up. If it's the Bulldog team in the 1st half tonight, then we might be in some trouble.

    Go Gators!!!

No doubt in my mind that Texas is the #2 team in the country...but it will be late in the season before things settle out and they rise to #2.

Hey Terry, there's plenty of doubt in my mind about Texas being number 2. 8) 8)

USC is a clear #2. Please note what happened to Auburn today: blown out at home by Arkansas. That's Arkansas... I said Arkansas... The same Arkansas who was blown out at home 50-14 by the Trojans earlier in the year. The previous year, USC tacked 70 on them in Los Angeles and they're easily thee worst team we have ever seen come through here. I can't even imagine them defeating anyone based on their showing against the locals here.

    re: Washington

Tyrone Willingham's rebuild project is well under way. The Huskies have lost only to Oklahoma and USC, while beating UCLA and Fresno State. They're not too shabby and they're improving every week. Remember, Tyrone was canned at Notre Dame for not being up to the standard there. He's still a good coach with a better staff in Seattle and he's going to win a lot of games up there. Washington is a good operation with lots of money and fan support. They're on the way back now...

    re: USC injuries

The Trojans have run out of fullbacks and WRs. Steve Smith went down today, leaving them with ZERO experienced WRs for Booty to throw the ball to. If this situation gets any worse, the results will show up in the win/loss column. Right now, the injury situation is hurting the total number of points that they put on the board...but they're still winning.

Injuries or no, make no mistake. USC is still loaded at most positions and they look like more than a match for anyone out there...

    Hmmmmmmmm...

No mention of Michigan in all y'alls analysis.

I'd put them right up there with your big boys...of course they gotta play Ohio State so everyone is counting them out.

Wonder where they should end up if they whup us...inquiring minds want to know.

Hey Stu, we are just patiently waiting for the 18th to come.

If we can beat Penn State and Iowa, it sure looks like Michigan and Ohio will be undefeated going into Columbus. M has the talent to beat OSU in Columbus. We are well balanced and our offensive and defensive lines have been playing dominating football. The critical thing for Michigan is to keep Hart healthy; He rolled his ankle againt MSU but supposedly it is a minor injury. When he is healthy, our running game clicks which makes our pasing game deadly.

But, playing Penn State at night at Happy Valley has all the signs of an ambush....

How about a Florida-Michigan NC game?

If UF were to win out.... a huge IF.....the Gators will be #2 regardless...unless OSU and Michigan both lose at which point UF would be #1.

I will still settle for a berth in the SECCG in Atlanta and a BCS Bowl game.

I like Florida at #2, especially with Tebow getting more playing time. Meyer's offensive, at least to my uneducated eyes, works best when you have a good running QB who can ball fake well. Leake does not sell the run fakes well and excells more as a passer than runner. Tebow, in contrast, looks like a supersized and faster version of Alex Smith.

I happen to like Chris Leak as a player and competitor but I have to admit I also get caught up in the excitement when Tebow enters the game.

You never know what he might do and whatever it is it is full metal jacket for that kid. He has amazing energy and toughness for a freshman or for any college football player for that matter.

    8) re: Michigan

Michigan holds its fate in its own hands. If they go undefeated, their win over Ohio State will make them #1, not #2...

    - The most suspect team in the Top 10 is West Virginia IMHO. All the others look good.

    - As I thought, that early Cal-Tennessee game is having long term repercussions. Cal looked fantastic in clobbering Oregon at Berkeley. The Ducks were never in the game. It was a wipe out. The Golden Bears pulled out some golden jerseys for the occassion and plan to wear them at home for the rest of the season. Their QB looks mighty good and they have a true freshman WR from Long Beach Poly who runs a 4.29 40-yard dash! If they continue to improve and USC continues to have injuries, the Trojans could be in major trouble...

    - I can't believe that Auburn is still in the Top 10. I'll believe they belong there if they beat Florida...otherwise OUT!

    - Is anybody else suspicious of Clemson besides me? I've seen them and they look average...

    - I wonder how good Boise State and Rutgers are? My gut tells me that they're good, but probably not good enough to beat a power...

    - Something tells me that Nebraska may cause some major trouble before this season is over. They're improving slowly, but they were getting pretty good the last time I saw them...

    - Is Colorado a disaster or what?

    - Tell me that Missouri isn't 6-0. No wonder I never win that stupid contest...

The race for #2 is as important as the race to be #1.

With that in mind it doesn't matter too much who winds up #1 or #2 because they will have to face each other in Tempe.

I just hope we don't end up with Louisville or WVa in the Championship game, that just wouldn't be right. That said if the Gators don't run the table and we are looking at a 1 loss team in the game, I do believe that Texas will be that team. They should run the table, they are better than anybody left on the schedule. Texas Tech was seen as a tough game at the begining of the season but they are not as good as they've been in the past. Neb just doesn't have the horses on either side of the ball to beat Texas either, even given the game is in Lincoln. Now of course we do have to still play the games of course. But I see Texas as the most logical to be the top 1 loss team.

USC could lose before ND gets to them, and if they aren't undefeated when we play them a victory over them won't vault us over Texas.

    Rematch in the Desert!!
