I'm heading down to Ft. Lauderdale for the next two days and then fishing early Saturday for Reds, Flounder and Mackerel back here in the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area ( hey....somebody's gotta do it  ) so I might not get to post about the Fla-Ga tussle so here goes: If Brantley comes back for the Dawgs... and that's not a given......we win a close one. If Brantley does not play.......we lose by 17 points. Come on back John.....please... and damn you Alabama!
Does the game still sellout? Is there still hard feelings by Georgia fans on having to play Fla in Fla every year?
Round about the Cauldron go; In the poison'd Entrails throw. Toad, that under cold stone Days and Nights has thirty-one Swelter'd Venom sleeping got, Boil thou first i' the charmed pot. Double, double toile and trouble ; Fire burn and Cauldron bubble.
Tons of sharks.....bigguns with lots of teeth. Terry whenever Georgia fans think they have edge to finally beat Florida you cannot get a ticket to this game and this would be one of those years.
We are headed out tomorrow morning to go to the game, stay a week at our daughters house then go to the Vandy game next Sat. Terry, to the best of my knowledge it is a sell out. As far as Georgia fans not wanting to play in Jax that's kind of a red herring. They didn't mind during the 70's and 80's when they were beating us regular. Also both teams have to agree to play on a neutral field. There will be as many Georgia fans in town as Gators.
Oh, I have seen distance mentioned as a reason the Gators have an advantage. It is about a 2 hour drive from Gainesville which is more than from Athens. However when we drive there tomorrow we go through Athens and it is only an 8 hour trip for us. So from Athens it is 5 hours or so. That is not a major difference.
Have a safe trip Bill. It will certainly be an interesting game. Richt needs badly to get the win, and the Gators and Charlie have Brantley back I wonder if he's 100%. I guess we'll find out.
Must win game for the Gators. However, I think the "O" for October gets into their heads. Too many mistakes and the Bull Dawggies take home the victory.
This is a rebuilding year for the Gators. Some Gators are really upset about this season, but that contingent aren't generally happy about anything. I'm fine with our new coach and him laying the groundwork to do things his way. Expect the Gator offense to look more like Alabama and LSU in the future, more of a power running game and less small fast receivers. Well we have to get up and around this morning and head for Jacksonville.
Good news for the Gators....both Brantley and Demps due back today. Does Georgia go 3-19 and Rich 2-9 ? I think so......Gators by three.
I'll tell you what, why hasn't Georgia been running the ball all game. Both Georgia and Florida have really had a lot of dropped passes. :?
19 total yards in the second half wouldn't beat Furman. I think Florida should have punted again to try and pin Ga deep and hope for a deep TO....about the only hope UF had with no offense in the second half. Brantley gave it a hearty go but his ankle severely limited his play in the second half and it seems like Muschamp and Weis just didn't have a back-up plan even though they had two weeks to work on it. So far Muschamp is a flop and Weis looks like he is ready for retirement. With regard to Georgia....what a snoozer the SECCG will be this year. The Dawgs had to hit two 4th down TD passes to win the game and get every pass intereference call called their way and if UF could still stymie their offense like that and make Murray hit less than 35% of his passes then the SEC West Champ will eat them alive. SEC West 45 Georgia 10
Funny enough.. 1. Tough loss for the Gators.. better luck next year guys. 2. Why isn't the subject of Meyer's recruiting mentioned more often? You guys have a lot of 4 and 5 star players and when I saw you last year (or this year) it just seems like there was no method to the madness. Without a Tebow or Alex Smith type QB (remember the guy after Tebow was suppose to be Captain Laptop) the system just falls apart.
It doesn't help that Charlie had to work with a couple of complete rookies, and today Brantley was back but he couldn't have been 100% and certainly had to be rusty. Also to be fair the team that Urban constructed is not exactly the type of team/players that Charlie needs. Willingham left him a pro style QB, some big WR's and a TB who was pretty good and could catch the ball out of the backfield plus good TE's. Might take Charlie a few years to get Gator talent switched out from Read Option Tebow style to what he needs. Question always is will the fans be patient.
