Spencer Hall has been writing and running EBSBS since 2005 I believe. He's written some incredible articles. They'd host some great game watch threads and their podcast is usually hilarious. His buddy Ryan Nanni somehow managed to get the gig as the Outback Bloomin' Onion for the Outback Bowl and hilarity ensued. It was just a place that made this all too serious game a lot more fun. I believe he's staying with the company, but just retiring the blog. I know the news is a bit old, but I've been too wrapped up with the cancer stuff to notice the news. Basically, if you follow any of those SBNation blogs, you have that guy to thank for it. Also, he's the funniest Gator fan ever.

Ok, from what he posted, it sounded like someone who either couldn't get a job or couldn't keep one, but I guess being a sports blogger? is a good fallback. When a writer asked Joe Namath if he majored in Basket Weaving at Alabama, he answered, no man, journalism. It was easier.

ha! I am pretty sure he fell into the sports blogging thing for good money after he finished grad school. There's worse things you can fall into.

Yeah, we're good. I just have never heard of this guy and I guess I just wasn't impressed with his writing style. That's a subjective thing so I just figured I'd move on.

I was shocked to read this over the summer. I enjoyed the blog and am sad to see its passing. I have enjoyed the new version of SBNation, but it's still weird to have it gone.

Oh okay, yeah it was probably just the way I was reading that.

Kes, I don't think people realize how influential that stupid blog was over the years. Spencer has written some classic pieces over the years, as well as some downright silly stuff over the years. I guess I never noticed it being sick because he still never shuts up on Twitter. I just somehow missed the announcement.

    Oh well.
