So are you guys excited about B1G Hockey? I'm kind of sad that the CCHA has gone away, the Irish of course moving to Hockey East but I liked the rivalries with the CCHA teams. I'm sure over time Hockey East will become the ND tradition and we'll all forget about the old days in the CCHA.

I know there were a lot of things that went into the decision to blowup the CCHA, and I do wish that the Irish had gone west to join the WCHA, but since we are trending towards the east coast with our move to the ACC I guess keeping Hockey in the east makes sense. I"m sure there was a $$ reason as well.

Hockey East is going to provide ND with some brutal road trips.

    T,

Sort of as it will be fun to watch Minnesota and Wisconsin on a regular basis but a 6 team league seems small and incestous in this era of college sports.

If I were a Gopher fan, I am not sure I would be all that excited as they had a great rivalry with North Dakota that now goes bye bye and the WCHA was the premier college hockey conference. Plus, both the CCHA and WCHA were unique as it gave small schools the opportunity to smack around the Goliath big-state school conference brudder.
