Damn it's nice to get on Sports Center again after being irrelevant for so long! The refs were NOT our friends in this one, but our improving defense wouldn't let them take it away. Not one, not two, but THREE goal line stands to preserve our lead. I'm not ready to anoint this group with a Wrecking Crew label, but they are definitely moving in the right direction. Ryan Tannehill showed that he's still a new QB, throwing into some bad spots a few times, but he also showed the arm and quick release that can make the plays we were missing earlier in the year. We are bowl eligible with a tough November still ahead. It's nice to be able to look forward to the remaining tilts with Baylor, NU, and the Sips, and believe we can win them. WOOHOO!! LOVE THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!
Sid, that one was for Terry. An old Aggie term for Texas alums: Tea-Sippers (Derived from the fact that they are all highfalutin' city folk who drink tea from little china cups with their pinkies in the air) We shorten it further to just "Sips" for quick reference.
I watched the game on tv and it was not as close as the final score indicated. The TA&M offense wasn't much help. They made mistake after mistake and the Aggies QB appeared totally confused about how to execute the plays or which side to throw the ball to. On the other hand, the Aggies defense looked fabulous! If the offense can continue to improve, Texas A&M has a chance to beat anybody. I wouldn't want to be the team that plays them in a bowl game; they seem to be at the beginning of a good run. ........JO'Co
