Not anywhere close to the national interest that last years game in Lubbock generated, but still a very big game for both teams.

Tech as usual has a high octane passing/spread attack, the new guy Taylor Potts hasn't missed a beat. He did throw some picks in their opening game win against mighty North Dakota that held the score to only 38-10. But last week against Rice he got it going and threw for a zillion yards and a bunch of touchdowns.

Their running game seems to be almost non-existant this year though. I doubt if their defense is very good either.

Texas has an experience OL and Colt McCoy back, our wR's are young and new except for Jordan Shipley whois a 6th year Senior and one of the best WR's in the country. The young guys, were all highly recruited and should be very good.

The key is not that we won't score points but we lost 2 starters in the defensive backfield to some sort of unknown academic issue and as far as I know they won't play saturday night. This is a huge problem vs Tech. So hopefully our DL and LB's will harass the Tech QB and force him out of his comfort zone and timing to make up for not having all the starters in the defensive backfield.

If Tech can exploit our 2nd stringers at DB, then this could be another big shootout. Otherwise I think Texas wins easily at home, by a good 2 or 3 touchdowns.

The Ticks will be roadkill in Austin.
The new QB has been slow to get it going in both games. If he does that this week he'll be behind by 4 TD's before he knows it, then the pressure will kick in.

I actually hope it stays close so Colt racks up the stats. Bill is playing the Bama defense against UNT!! I need all the points I can get!!

Are you kidding me? The Pirate, Colt McCoy, and it's 10-3 Texas...no TD's for either team on offense? Colt McCoy looking confused by a Texas Tech defense??

Quite a game and that stadium looks incredible doesn't it! :)

While of course it can still happen, but it's less likely that USC will play for the Nat'l Championship this year.

That was a great game last night, Tech never quit. I thought that Sergio Kindle should have gotten a personal foul for a blow to the head on that one hit where he knocked Potts helmet off and Potts fumbled. But I'll give Potts his due, that kid stood in against a fierce rush and no running game to slow it down and delivered strike after strike. Those Tech recievers, none of which you've heard of or would have been happy if your team had recruited them made a lot of great catches as well, never have I seen a team that can find 5 or 6 guys who can all run routes and all hang on to bullets when they are thrown their way.

Tech defense is suprisingly good, that DCoord looked like Charlies Black brother. :)
