....this season. That's pretty unusual. http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/109082/texas-am-embarks-on-its-first-trip-outside-the-lone-star-state Most miles traveled in the SEC 1. Florida: 1,985 miles 2. South Carolina: 1,574 miles 3. LSU: 1,448 miles Florida still has to travel to South Carolina so the Gators will add to those miles traveled.
With the long time trend to play all your non conference games at home vs buy opponents you get this, gators never would have gone as far as Missouri if they hadn't joined the SEC.
Call it pay back for last year when the Aggies traveled 6400 miles. Most of us would gladly give up the game at Jerry World, but the Hogs won't...
T - thumbs up And while gators are touting their brutal travel schedule, the rest of the nation rolls their eyes. Wazzu traveled 2700 miles one way in a single road game already.
One of Will Muschamp's best wins as Gator coach was the gritty win over the Aggies and Johnny Manziel at Kyle Field. You can brush that off as a conference game but UF and Tex A&M were totally unfamiliar opponents. At the time a game like that fully supported the fact that UF can perform well on the road.
It was a good win, no doubt. But it was a conference game same as going to Baton Rouge. Let me know when you willingly schedule a game out side the SEC region.
Had that discussion on this board many times Terry and not worth rehashing the whys etc. other than to again note that every other year in addition to playing in some of the toughest SEC venues the Gators play at FSU.
