Terry, Hefty New Contract for Oswalt

    I like this move. He has a solid history, he obviously is a good citizen, and he loves his Dad. Hopefully for Stros fans, they can use this move to begin building a winner around pitching.

    That is a big contract for sure. They were talking about it this morning on the drive time sports. Richard Justice who is the lead writer for the Chronicle and who I personally think is a major league prick, but that's another story, said that they could have signed him to 3 years/45 million last year. He said that by making Roy wait and the trade rumours that were flying about involving Roy caused he and his agent to ask for 5 years and a very solid no trade clause.

    I personally don't like 5 year contracts, esp for pitchers. But I'm glad they got it done, if they waited any longer he'd probably have filed for free agency and then that would bring King George in the picture, and you know what happens then.
