Sloppy first half but Tennessee comes out on top 14 to 7. I have just witnessed the most stupid act by a player in my history of watching football. Tennessee let a receiver get behind the secondary. The pass was completed... 70 yards to the 1 yard line... oops, flag on the field. A Vandy lineman made, not a close call clip, but a flagrant obvious clip, far behind the play. Vandy gets the ball on their own 14, 85 yards behind the end of the play. Very next play, Vandy QB sacked on the 1 yard line. Vandy forced to punt when they had first and goal from the 1.
Another stupid play... We are on the Vandy 4 yard line and Brey throws an interception that goes 99 yards for a pick 6. We are all tied up.
Tennessee and Vandy go to overtime. The announcers just stated a few minutes ago that Vandy's wins have been blow out wins, they haven't won a close game... Thanks announcers... this will be their first... It's like saying: He hasn't missed an extra point all year... wide left. :x
Tennessee wins the toss. Tennessee took defense. Rogers throws a pick six. The officials try to bring it back for a knee down. Replay officials overturn. Tennessee wins without ever going on offense in OT.
Beat Kentucky and go to a meaningless bowl... meaningless except for the extra work this young team needs for next year.
Congrats on that win, I've never seen a blocked kick get called like that but it was the right call. A win is a win!
The guy that ran into the kicker was not the one that blocked it. It was blocked at the line. I think that is the difference. If the guy that runs into the kicker first touches the ball, no call.
