We just returned to the RV in Oak Ridge after attending the Tennessee game tonight.

    I have a few comments:

First, Southern Miss is no cup cake. They gave us all we wanted and more in the first half. We came alive and Southern Miss faded in the second half.

Second, two Tennessee fans tonight made me want to start cheering for Southern Miss at the beginning of the 4th quarter. I found myself apologizing for the rude and unsportsmanlike actions of these two idiots. Obviously we were sitting close to the Southern Miss section. I’m glad we pulled out the victory but I was cheering for the police even more than I was for Tennessee when they escorted the idiots out of the stadium.

Third, we have a lot of work to do before we go to Florida. If we play like we did in the first half, Florida will destroy us. If we mimic our second half performance, Florida is in trouble. Playing two excellent opponents may have prepared us well for the trip to Gainsville.

Hey Tom, I was at the Gator - Troy game today also. It was a tail of two halves for the Gators today also but in reverse. We led at halftime 49-7 but got outscored in the 2nd half 24-10.

So if we play like we did in the first half we will do well, if we play like the 2nd half the Gators could be in trouble.

So let's ponder this, if both Florida and Tennessee play like they did this week in both halves the Gators should lead at halftime but Tennessee dominate the 2nd half.

We are going to be at the game and I'm looking foreard to a typical Gator - Vol game.

Another point: We learned that Taylor (#12) is a very good receiver. His progress between games 1 and 2 was nothing short of phenominal. Austin Rogers (#21) made great strides as well. We now have a balanced attack to throw at Florida.
