I'm in Portland, Me. on business. These guys don't know much about UT-UF. The way things look maybe that is a good thiong...
I'm very curious to see this game, so I hope it's on TV here. Both teams have looked terrible at times, but great at other times. How far and how fast have they come in three weeks? This game won't be the end of the world, but it should reveal a lot...
I think the Gators have more depth. However they have been a really slow starter in both their first two games. Tennessee seems to get out of the box really fast but depth can become an issue. This is one year that I think the early season game plays in Tennessee's favor because of depth that might become an issue later in the year. However from what Tom said this is a very young Tennessee team so that could be wrong also. I like the Gator chances, but it does always bother me a bit when we have a winning streak against a good opponent because that tends to fire them up. Score prediction later.
This game will be at 3:30 and on CBS, which means I will be able to watch at least a portion of the game. Looking forward to watching and good luck to both teams.
Gators just have too much talent for the Vols at this time. It shouldn't even be close, Vols may be able to stick with the Gators on emotion for a quarter or a half, but Gators pull away in the end for easy victory.
Terry, As evidenced by the Oregon game, I'm afraid that your observations are correct. It is too early to be calling for a QB change but Tyler Brey was much more accurate with his passes when put into the first game for clean up duties. Matt tends to over throw the receivers which is an indication that the game is moving too fast in his mind.
Well looks like the Gators might be a star down now that Chris Rainey has been arrested for stalking.
Maybe it will be the Vols time to pull the big upset. You never can tell. Hopefully it'll be a great game. PJ in Jersey
If Rainey is out that definitely hurts the offense but I think Gillislee needs to get more reps anyway. UF hasn't proven they can get out of the gate in two games so far. The Vols started fast last week so I see another 3 quarter nail biter for Gator fans with hopefully UF pulling away in the 4th. How about a hard fought 27-13 win for UF.
There is a write on ESPN Insider who feels the Vols have a chance to upset the Gators. 1. Brantley's first road start in SEC 2. Vol pass defense 3. Vols kept it close last year So there is Hope! I'd link the article but unless you are an 'Insider" you couldn't read it anyway.
It's one of those rivalry games that can spring an upset. I think the Gators will be ready. 27 - 17 Gators
Half way through the 1st qtr and all of Tennessee's offensive plays have been within our own 10 yard line and we are still scoreless. It could be worse.
Gators continue to look ordinary, Brantley doesn't look esp sharp, RB's don't look great, just doesn't look like UF. If Simms doesn't throw the pick in the endzone it's at least 7-6 at halftime and maybe 10-7 Tenn. We'll see if Tenn can keep the pressure on for the second half, this is where Oregon came out and blew their wheels off last week.
Gators 7 - 3 at halftime. Both teams look pretty ordinary at this point. I'm hoping for a Gator turnabout. As I am sure Tom and Cindy are hoping for a Vol turnaround.
Looks like Gators will win, Brantley looked good in spots but he's still a work in progress at this point. But with 3 wins!!
