4 point game at the half. Florida looks very strong and is excelling in what Tennessee normally controls... turnover margin. Don't think that I am making an excuse for the 4 point deficit. I just want to hear MCG’s take on the foul issue. Tennessee is called for seven times as many fouls as Florida in the first half. Tennessee is called for seven fouls to Florida’s one in the whole half.
Tennessee is up by 4 with 4:40 left but our big man, Wingate, just fouled out. This will go down to the wire!
Gators couldn't get it in bounds. Bradshaw steels and takes it to the goal for a two point lead. Gators miss and have to foul Lofton who has not missed a free throw in SEC play all year. First one is up and BOTTOM! Three point lead. The second one is up and BOTTOM! 4 point lead with 2.6 seconds left.
That's how it ends. Tennessee wins 77 to 72. Tennessee is called for 16 fouls to Florida's 8. Florida played their hearts out and on one occasion, their lips out. Florida had caused several turnovers by crowding our players on the boundry lines. Noah caught one in the mouth while fighting for the ball on the sideline. Florida is good but this was Tennessee's year between these two teams. T Shirts are now out that simply say "Pearl is our homeboy".
Great win for the Vols! Now the Gators have to will have to beat Kentucky in Lexington to get a first round bye in the SEC Tournement. It's unbeleivable that we turn the ball over on an inbounds play wih 20 seconds to play. What's more unbelievable is that it was Corey Brewer who did the turnover in this game and the one in Knoxville. He is a really good player, I hope this doesn't affect him much. Congratulations Tom. Gator Bill
It was a very enjoyable game .... great crowd at the O-dome for a pretty good battle. UT looks to be the best in the conference in 2006. BTW ..... I understand Jo' Noah now has less 1 tooth than he did at lunch, yesterday!!
Calling Dr. O'Keefe, Calling Dr. O'Keefe!! I wonder if he was wearing a good mouth protector? This: Can prevent this:
