Bama was tenacious tonight but Tennessee held on to a slim victory. I am proud to say that even while behind in the game, Tatum and Goins, the two recently reinstated player, were holding on to the pine pony all night long. Tennessee pulled out the 7 point victory (63-56) but the game was much closer than the score shows.
I didn't get to see the game but Alabama seems to be coming away with a lot of moral victories this year. Crap!
I was visiting the Volunteers basketball schedule and see where you will visit Lexington first and then a return game at home in February. Tennessee is having a great season thus far. Don
Thanks Don, I like the way this team "finds a way to win." Bama went up early on the Vols and Chism, our leader had two fouls in the first two minutes of the 1st half. Chism sat out 15 minutes of the 1st half and we went into the break down by only one. This team didn't drop their head when the leader (Smith) was dismissed. They rose to the challenge. KP, Bama was strong. They were blocking shots right and left. They clawed back to within 4 points with 3 minutes left in the game. That was after being down by double digits half way through the 2nd period. Your teams strength is defense. That will carry you far.
Pearl has done a great job with this team, also team has done a great job in stepping up and accepting their new roles and not worrying about stuff over which they have no control. Short bench might cost them some later in the year, esp in the SEC tournament where you play a lot of games in a short time, but that's about all. Heck most players think they deserve to play nearly 100% of the time and only come out for a quick blow and/or swallow of water. With your short bench you can bet everybody is happier with their playing time.
Well, I don't think anyone is complaining about not enough... unless it is the idiots Goins and Tatum. :? :? :?
