It's here once again. However, this year, we have a QB that looks like he is having fun on the field. I know... we have played Montana and Cincinnati. Guys, Cincinnati is no slouch. We made vast improvement week 1 to week 2 in all areas except run blocking. I'm sure that is first priority in practice this week. I actually feel good about not only this game, but the rest of our season. I didn't see much to fear with either the SC or UGA defenses last week. As usual, Florida hasn't played anyone but the sisters of the blind in weeks 1 and 2. Alabama still scares me. Bring on Florida... I'm ready!
To go along with my "Alabama still scares me comment, I found this quote from General Robert Neyland:
Don't take my comments in this topic as overconfidence or being cocky. Just happy to have watched a Tennessee team in weeks 1 and 2 that didn't do everything they can to shoot themselves in their collective feet! Another one of the General's quotes which became one of the 7 game maxims modified for next week:
Right there with you, Tom. It's nice to actually have an offense that doesn't score more points for the other team.
Where is Gator Bill and MCG? Guys... this is time for Gator Bait talk from your side and grilling Gator tail from mine! How do you see this year's game?
Shouldn't there be a bet where if Tenn wins Dave has to wear Orange Pants all week, and if the Gators win you have to wear Blue pants?
Here I are. I always fear SEC teams and certainly the Vols are no exception. We will be leaving for the game Friday mid morning. Leaving that late because I have to make a stop at the Bowling pro shop that drills my balls and he is not available until noon. I need the thumb hole expanded in my new ball. Having got that in and realizing my posting will be limited from that time until we get home Sun nite I will make some comments now. I like what I see of the Gators this year. Sisters of the blind or not we have only allowed 3 points to be scored against us so far and our starting DE Floyd will be back from a ridiculous NCAA 2 game suspension. On offense we have moved the ball well and I have a lot of confidence in Charlie Weis and am gaining confidence in Brantley. Last week at halftime I was a bit distressed as to how sloppy we had been playing. Then I looked at the stats and realized the Gators had 300+ yards of offense. That blew my mind. Tennessee, I haven't been able to watch them so far but I have always felt you have the right coach to put the Vos back in contention in the SEC. As opposed to the last ass that was there, Lame Kiffy, this coach seems to be a class act and lets his talking occur on the field. By the way I don't have any problem with coaches tweaking each other and my team, I just plain didn't like Kiffin and think you guys are well rid of him. First prediction Gators 24 - Vols 16. I reserve the right to change my prediction and thoughts until I leave Friday and even after that if I manage to get online.
I wouldn't go anywhere near anyone that even thought about drilling my balls! On that, you can rest assured!
That's what happens with bowling balls, finger holes and thumb holes have to be drilled. The guy who now does my BOWLING balls is about 2 hours away. They are drilled and fitted the best they have ever been and my scores are showing it. I'll try to state it different next time. But my balls are drilled great. Early in the season I have a 204 average in one league and a 186 in the other. My composite is a 198, more games in the higher average league. Now if any of you want your balls drilled I would be glad to recommend him.
I think we are just fine without him. Here's an interesting quote from that article. Some Gator fans do feel like some of the enforcement folks are a little quick for an arrest.
I have been up in Cape Cod and Rhode Island.......now in Newport. I think UF has been plain vanilla the last two weks and is going to show some new wrinkles......on both sides of the ball. I also think the D-line has been very good.....and will be better with Shariff Floyd back. Tn is improved and will keep it tight.......UF 27 UT 17
Tom, I am sure Derek will have plenty to talk about in the dressing room. I think Muschamp will have plenty to fire up the Gators also. I am planning on being at and enjoying this game.
