I hope that Nick is getting plenty of valuable reps at QB in practice. With him starting, we can probably make it respectable. We have a good to great defense. With limited mistakes on offense, we could very well surprise them like Bama did... but don't count on it. I am not as negative about this game as I was about Florida. My prediction will come on Saturday morning after I hear practice results all week.
Probably not much will change at the running back position. Fulmer said a lot to say not much of anything:
Maybe this is the start of the road back for this year. Hope so, I don't wish a season like the Irish had last year on anybody here on the skybox. Of course fortuneately we don't have any OU, USC, or FSU fans!! Has any of this turmoil hurt recruiting?
Yes... two decommits already. Fulmer needs to do what is best for the program, not what is best for Fulmer.
I understand completely the problems Foster has with fumbling and I agree that Creer and Hardesty are more talented in many ways. However, Foster isn't exactly chopped liver. My knock against him has always been that he lacked game-changing speed. He has actually showed more burst this year than he has in previous years, IMO. He still lacks the explosion of Creer and Hardesty. I believe changing the QB was a step in the right direction WRT fixing the offense. However, I think the RB position has less to do with the problem. I think the idea of having the linemen learn both sides of the line has hurt as much as anything. However, at this point, they have to stick with it. Hopefully, line play will improve. I'm not sure what to make of the WR drop problems. It isn't new though as I remember a couple of years ago, the same problem was occurring. I refuse to believe Tenn. lacks playmakers at WR. They just need to step up and produce and if they don't, then other guys need to be given the opportunity. Moore got a shot on Sat. and responded with a 52 yd TD. Tom, I'm curious if you've read anything on why Ahmad Paige still hasn't gotten significant playing time. He was one of the most highly touted in the country out of high school. Recruiting has been hurt by the performance on the field. The biggest blow was Nunes. I'm not so sure we would have kept him anyway though. I think his heart and mind were at Stanford. I did see that Tenn. got a commitment from a Juco on the DL. That's big, if it holds. I also have read in a few places that RB David Oku had committed. Tom, can you confirm?
Actually that is not true. He has stated that he will not make his announcement until his father comes back from Iraq later this month. Here is a link to that article published 2 days ago. Something could have changed since then but I have not seen it if it has.
Colquitt to be back for the Georgia game. I say: Let him ride the pine pony. Our punting is getting better every week. He can be a back-up to play in mop up roles and to be available in case of injury. Here is the entire article.
Reports are now out that Crompton has been arrested on suspicion of vandalism. Police were called to the Fulmer residence where three empty egg crates were found on the front lawn. The Fulmer house was only hit by two eggs while neighbors on both sides were slamed by over a dozen eggs each. After a short investigation, given the lack of accuracy, Crompton was the most logical suspect. :?
OK... I hope I am wrong and will gladly lose my 1 point: Tennessee 14 Georgia 17 Tennessee scores half its points on defense.
