The hype and hoopla is through the roof on this kid right now. He is a charismatic character to be sure but none of this would be possible if he had not accomplished some major things on the field as well. Good luck tonight Timmy.....
What accomplishments??? 126/271 for a completion percentage of 46.5? Awesome! 1,729 yards, which puts him on pace for just over 2300 in a 16 game schedule? Sweet! 12 TDs to 6 INTs and 7 fumbles? Just the way you like it! Passer rating of 72.9? Unbelievable! Yep, he just wins, baby! Don't worry about the other 50 or so players on the team that are more responsible for their success than he is. I sure hope he gives credit where it's due, even if his blind fans don't. Of course, knowing his personality, I would bet he would be the first one to point at the contributions of those around him.
Pay attention mr Teabag...watch every move by the master tonight...maybe after the game you can play catch with Brady and learn the art of playing Q back!!
Michael Vick's stats this year (13 games played, somewhat comparable): 253/423 for a completion percentage of 59.8 3,303 yards, on pace for over 4,000 18 TDs to 14 INTs and 10 fumbles Passer rating of 84.9 Oh, and 589 rushing yards to Tebow's 660. LIGHT years ahead of Tebow as a QB, and I don't know anyone that is trying to sell Vick as being in the top 5 QBs in the league. He is average, and Tebow is worse than that. The Broncos have a good TEAM, they have a great DEFENSE, they have AWESOME leadership in Tebow, who seems like a genuinely good guy whom everyone hopes (including me) DOES become a great QB, because EVERYONE wants to see a guy like that succeed, all while doing it the right way. But, he is not the messiah, nor is he the reason they keep winning.
New England's defense is not good. Brady is by far the better QB in this game but I give Denver a slim shot just because of Tebow. For the life of me I do not understand the anti-Tebow sentiment. Fans celebrate all kinds of gangsta behavior in the NFL but a man with spirituality and humility seems to threaten some. **** like this makes me scratch my head.
I'm with you Krebsie.....the NFL and the planet needs more Tebow's, not fewer. The kid will likely never be a top notch NFL passer.....but he has shown tremendous work ethic, he is inspirational, a leader, a tremendous competitor and he is a winner. He didn't create the mania that surrounds him now, nor does he seek it. He is the first to praise others for the success the Bronco's have had and the last to praise himself. He above all others is appreciative of the fact that the Broncos have an outstanding defense that has kept them in games when his play has been poor. I can conceive of no organization, sporting or otherwise, that would not be better off with that young man involved. I have no clue what inspires the Tebow-haters. Kes, let me be clear, I don't include you amongst the haters, but rather pointing out the obvious deficiencies and very poor production in the passing game. I get that and it is what it is and yes, make no mistake, without the Broncos defense, he'd be watching the playoffs from home like the rest of us. That said, I do think he's great for the game, a great role model for every human being on the planet and I for one am damn glad he's still in it....go Timmy go
Like him or not he has the NFL ratings running like a 12 cylinder diesel engine at full throttle. A local ESPN radio announcer mentioned something interesting this week. He called a couple super bowls and national championships where he brought his wife with him and she read a book unaware of the game-play. Now she is hooting and hollering at the TV set every time Tebow gets the ball. He has normally uninterested people watching the game for the first time.
My wife is going to watch the game because of Tebow. So am I. I don't give a crap about the Patriots, and I don't really care who wins the game, but I will enjoy watching a kid who embodies all that is good among our young people. He is humble, capable, and he's the underdog who keeps finding ways to win. I don't care where he rates as a QB. Bottom line: He's fun to watch. How many millions of people like my wife, who normally don't care about the NFL, will be watching tonight just because of Tebow?
If Tebow gets all the credit for Denver's success, then he has to be responsible for the defense not holding the Pats. 0-14 is not a good start for Tebow.
You gotta appreciate the Patriot fans. Up 42-7 in the 3rd quarter and booing Bronco safety David Bruton who is down on the field injured. Brady still in too. Stay classy Bill.

Very true.....good post BT. So Tebow has a 72.9 passer rating his first year starting......Peyton Manning had a 71.2......and he won a whole lot less games. Tebow had virtually no receivers last night.....and a porous offensive line.... and three pass drops and numerous throwaways due to a fierce pass rush. Not only did Brady have good wideouts but he has the luxury of two awesome tight ends.....whereas Tebow has no TE it seems. And yet somehow Tebow managed his team to the second round of the playoffs. A whole off season of working behind center as #1 Qb will only make him better and hopefully the Broncos will draft him some help at receiver.
I expected as much. When the Broncos won, it is all to Tebow's credit. When they don't, it is the fault of his supporting cast. Tebow was taken in the 25th pick of the first round. What does that say for the team he went to? Peyton was picked as the number one pick of the NFL draft in 1998. What does that say about the team that he went to. Dave, you are something else... what I'm not sure. Just because he is a Gator, he has to be superior in your eyes. I have the utmost respect for Tim Tebow as a person. His Christian values are superior to most. As a NFL QB, only time will tell. You may say that I'm a hater. Farthest thing from the truth. I just want fair assessments. In 1997, Gators berated the college career of Peyton Manning because he never beat Florida. It was his fault... couldn't have been anything to do with his supporting cast. It had to be Peyton. Now when losing for a Gator is questioned, you compare his results to Manning in a first season with a last place team (previous year). Typical!
