I'm approved for franchising with them. The wife and I have finished the 100 hrs for them. I have the loan ready to sign with the bank. First I'm going to make sure this is what we really want to do. I'm also going to approach them with some concerns I have with the UFOC. Now's the time I need to get my accountant involved and get a Lawyer. The wife and I are going to take a few more weeks to slow down and look ahead at what we're in for. Like I said, we worked 100 hrs for them, so we know just how hard it is running this franchise. It's not an easy concept. I would say it's much more work than Subway. My biggest worry is how hard it will be to get a trained staff that can run this effectively.
Excellent TB...Im glad they had you do the hours of training with them! The restaurant busines is a 7 day 365 day a year commitment as you now see. It requires your 100 % attention. As I told you on our phone conversation..I never had a day off in 40 years in this business, until I retired 13 years ago. However, if you can handle the above and want to be your own boss..GO FOR IT! jif
Jif..I admire your dedication! I know I could not have done it. Would like to have seen the menu. Vic
Vic...The menu isnt the problem. As TB might know by now its the employees! First and foremost every employee wants to be a "partner" with no investment. Solve that problem and you have the "no shows". Then you have the service and cleanliness. It never ends! jif

Vic..I had a variety of fast food restaurants. Started off with Mister Donut franchise for Rhode Island. Went on to start a mini chain of my own called House of Muffins ( 3 stores). Ended up with an A&W Root Beer Franchised Restaurant. jif
Ive got a 40 year old friend ( that used to work for me) that is in a similar situation to you. He is tired of working for someone else. Married etc. He is looking at Subway and has been for a few years..but as of now just cant pull the trigger! Im trying to convince him to get one going..then start expanding. jif

Click edit to see how this was done. The first one is simple... highlight the entire link and click the URL button above. The second is a little more complicated but looks better. Tennessee Tom
Thanks Jif. I'm still debating. I'm headed to Nashville in a week or so and back to Miss also. I'll look over the Oxford area. After I take a look at those 2 areas the wife and I will decide if we should stick around here. If not for family I would move right now. Atlanta sucks.
