The TEA Party Movement is as big as all the liberals combined. That's a lot of "terrorists." (CNS News) — The percentage of Americans who expressly state that they are supporters of the Tea Party movement is currently about as large at 22 percent of the population as the 21 percent who say they are liberals, according to recent but separate Gallup polls. Meanwhile, at 41 percent of the population, according to Gallup, self-described conservatives outnumber both Tea Party movement supporters and liberals by nearly 2-to-1. In separate polls done on July 27 and August 2, 23 and 22 percent of respondents told Gallup they considered themselves supporters of the Tea Party movement. These polls (each of which was conducted in one day) had a margin of error of +/-4 points, and Gallup warned that polls conducted in one day “are subject to additional error or bias not found in polls conducted over several days.” In fact, the July 27 and August 2 polls showed a considerably smaller percentage of Americans saying they were Tea Party supporters than previous Gallup polls conducted over three- and four-day periods. For example, a Gallup survey conducted April 20–23 of this year, found that 30 percent of Americans described themselves as Tea Party supporters. Similarly, a Gallup poll conducted Jan. 14-16 of this year also found that 30 percent of Americans described themselves as Tea Party supporters. BTW- Check the number of conservatives at 41%. When I was a small boy, the total number of conservatives was 5%. Even Ronald Reagan was a Democrat in those days...
Say remember that Arab psyciatrist who shot all those soldiers at Fr. Hood? As I recall the administration refused to lable him a "terrorist." Now at last we find out what their definition of a terrorist is. It's a 75 yr. old grandmother who attends Tea Party rallies. How did this perverted circus ever take over in Washington?
 re: "How did this perverted circus ever take over Washington?" I hate to say it, but it's our fault. For six years George W. Bush never vetoed a single bill from the Republican Congress. Not even that massive highway bill that was pure pork for Republican Congressmen from coast-to-coast. We knew the level of spending was too high, and was motivated by vote buying; yet we let them get away with it. We also knew that getting involved with two land wars in the Middle East was a bad (and expensive) idea too... Then we allowed the lib/Dems to demagogue the Social Security issue, and we did nothing about Medicare as costs spiraled out of control... To top it off, we were so afraid of a Hillary Clinton presidency, that we helped to drag her down in the Democratic primaries. Every conservative TV and radio voice was turned against her, and never once did we seriously consider that her opponent might be even further to the left and worse than she was. Now look what we've got: incompetence and left-wing, machine politics all rolled into one, arrogant, clueless package. Seven wars instead of two; vote buying on a scale never imagined, even in Chicago; and the entire population divided into two warring camps: those who work and pay taxes vs. those who pay off the Democrats to receive free services. The damage may take a generation to undo and I blame us. There's no room to compromise now. We must destroy this socialist nightmare or join the big parade of those who're lining up for all the freebies and rename ourselves the United States of Chicago.
When y'all need me, I'll be over here with the wet stone and the black flag. Better find someone to run this though, I'm not that type..
Corey, We are getting close to the level of outrage that has caused the riots and demonstrations in European countries. My safes are ready. This could get bad enough that you have to defend your own home.
 The official response of the Obama Administration to the S&P downgrade is out and it isn't pretty. From official spokesmen; to senators like John Kerry; to former spokesmen like Axelrod; to the nightly news shows; the Red Chorus is singing the same tune: the TEA Party caused the downgrade. Obama's spending had nothing to do with it. These clowns have no intention of taking responsibilty for anything that happened on their watch. The attacks have begun...
Now I am just a poor farmer hick living in the woods but it seems that the Tea Party are the only ones who had the answer that S&P was looking for. Decrease spending and make the hard cuts needed to get the US moving toward reducing our debt. And to the credit of the Tea Party they were so serious and sincere of this thought process they hung together and did not waiver with the truth of what needed to be done. It was reminiscent of the acts accomplished by our founding forefathers who demanded a truthful action to the requirements of the problem....? One of the most inspirational deeds a group in congress has done for some time.
"These clowns have no intention of taking responsibility for anything that happened" The problem is that they are all responsible and no one wants to take on that responsibility. They all act like.....on both sides......that as long as they win their election by one stinking vote then all of the other people who did not see things their way must be stupid to vote for someone else......must not be represented at all. My understanding of a legislator representing his/her district is that they are a voice of all the people.......not just those that voted for them. Where in the hell did we get so full of hate......fall so far off the track? http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/2011/08/04/unpopularity-of-congress-at-alltime-high-poll/
 re: "When in the hell did we get so full of hate? That's an easy one: the 1960's. First the far-left turned their acid attacks on their own party, culminating in the Chicago Convention in 1968. Then they turned it on Republican President Richard Nixon...forcing him from office, despite the fact that most of his policies were identical to what JFK's had been from 1961-63. Then they handed victory in Vietnam to the Communists more than two years after the last shot was fired...etc. re: TEA Party About 50% of all TEA partiers are Republicans; 30% independents and 20% Democrats. This is the old Reagan coalition and I hope they find someone to lead it, because we need it.
Tom, I'm not worried. Most people are too lazy, even those who are angered by all of this. They'll just take it, because that's what people do. Few, if any, believe in dying an honorable death. You fire a gun at one person, and they find cover before trying to find a way to disarm or counter attack you. Fire a gun at a crowd of people and they feed off each other's panic before submitting to the will of the man with the gun... despite the fact that, statistically speaking, they stand a much better chance as a group. Man is intelligent, people are stupid. Even in these parts, people know me, and more important, I know all of them. They may not have paid attention to this poor sod from California stuck out here, but I've been watching them. If I'm ever put in the position of having to defend my family or home, that person will find themselves having to defend everything they ever cared about before I ever think about coming back to make them defend theirs. So sure, the talking heads are out in force blaming this on the Tea Party and the GOP.. that is to be expected...and the fingers will continue to be pointed and hot air will blow while Rome burns.
