Interesting clip from West Wing "back in the day". A hard lefty leaning show to be sure, but note how they treated the "tax the rich" rhetoric compared to today's class warfare by the President himself.......leadership?

    Great lines.....

"....I paid for my fair share and that of 27 other people....."

"the top 1% pay for 22% of this country, let's not call them names while they're doing it..."

It's an old clip JO'Co......the top 1% have almost doubled their contribution to support the central government whilst simultaneously getting increasingly hammered by the class warfare leaders......leadership?

funny he mentioned the cars.. (that's as far as I got in the video).. it's the first thing I noticed about the neighborhood.

Everyone in that neighborhood drives a nicer car than I do. I pull teeth just to keep my job and am in the process of trying to find a second full-time job. I also started my own graphic design/advertising company on the side to try to get real momentum going... and I barely (almost not at all) make ends meet.

Across the street from the complex I live, there is a recently 'claimed' HUD complex (HUD claiming complexes happens quite a bit here).. Every car in that lot is nicer than mine. I can never figure out how someone making 13k a year can afford a car that is valued anywhere from 17 to 40k.. I just don't get it... Their cars are nice too.. Always washed, wheels shining. They have all day to do it, they don't work.

I had some time to kill this week because I was an hour early for a doctors visit
and I had my bride with me so I asked her if she wanted to explore the town we were in (Unlike the poor inner city folks we have to drive two or three towns over to find a doctor that will accept our insurance much less work on your specific problem).

So as we toured the area we came across several HUD complexes that were incredibly nice, one even had a small lake on the back of the property. After driving in the area for 30 minutes my wife of 27 years says Ralph why are all these men hanging around here playing cards and sitting in lawn chairs there must be over 100 I have counted doing nothing.

I explained to her that they were the impoverished and oppressed Americans who needed help from us rich folks and the reason why you see no woman hanging around is these poor men were only able to find jobs for their wives and girlfriends because nothing is available to them. I then told her that it was my sincerest hope to put myself in their position and experience their plight as any person of conscience would do. So I told her to sell our house get a job and I would wait for her in my new HUD apartment until she makes it home to make my dinner....

It's a good thing I was on the way to the Doctors.....

The rhetoric of the good Rep Debbie Wasserman Shultz......the House legislation would cut federal expenditures in 2012 less than 1%.....let that ruminate in your mind for half a second and then in light of what we've seen in the videos and what we know about the efficiency of federal agencies - any and all federal agencies - somebody please, please tell me just exactly which one of our myriad of federal agencies cannot find 1% to cut? Are you f%@king kidding me.....

This rhetorical nonsense is the basis upon which the our Lib/Dem friends are rallying the public to their actions.....an informed, independent thinking base would clearly see through this nonsense......this is an insult to any citizen that your elected representatives believe that you are this stupid......

As bad as Obama is, Congress is 100x worse.

Obama is a media creation, a socialist puppet who came to this highest office with no qualifications whatsoever and has proven every day that he has no capacity for this job or any job that demands leadership.

But Congress, they know what they are doing. They make the laws and write the checks. And everything they do has one primary goal: self-perpetuation.

Watching this collection of fat-ass entitled misfits in action is mind numbing. One can help but think that the situation is hopeless.

    This is from IOTW

Smart folk in Washington are busily staring into their crystal balls (or perhaps Magic 8-Balls) trying to figure out why unemployment is so “unexpectedly” high. Perhaps if they stopped playing with their balls and listened to some real employers, they might get a clue.

David McElroy shares the story of one Ronnie Bryant who operates coal mines in Alabama. Bryant went to a public hearing in an innercity Birmingham neighborhood for various government officials to get public input on local environmental issues. After listening to two hours of business bashing by environmentalists and other activists, he finally had his say:

"I got a permit to open up an underground coal mine that would employ probably 125 people. They’d be paid wages from $50,000 to $150,000 a year. We would consume probably $50 million to $60 million in consumables a year, putting more men to work. And my only idea today is to go home. What’s the use? I don’t know. I mean, I see these guys — I see them with tears in their eyes — looking for work. And if there’s so much opposition to these guys making a living, I feel like there’s no need in me putting out the effort to provide work for them. So as I stood against the wall here today, basically what I’ve decided is not to open the mine. I’m just quitting. Thank you."

....and here is how our crackerjack local bureaucrats are dealing with runaway government spending. Seriously? My grill is 7 years old and rusting away......and yet we can't find 1% savings without being told we're putting the health of our senior citizens at risk. The absurdity of it is boundless.....

Never in my 50+ years have I ever been more concerned about the future prospects of our society.....

    From Brutally Honest

Peggy Noonan’s lost that lovin’ feeling by Rick
We’ll first go to October of 2008 and these words from Ms. Noonan:

The case for Barack Obama, in broad strokes:

He has within him the possibility to change the direction and tone of American foreign policy, which need changing; his rise will serve as a practical rebuke to the past five years, which need rebuking; his victory would provide a fresh start in a nation in which a fresh start would come as a national relief. He climbed steep stairs, born off the continent with no father to guide, a dreamy, abandoning mother, mixed race, no connections. He rose with guts and gifts. He is steady, calm, and, in terms of the execution of his political ascent, [snip, I almost puked]

That was then… this is now:

The secret of Mr. Obama is that he isn’t really very good at politics, and he isn’t good at politics because he doesn’t really get people…

The fact is, he’s good at dismantling. He’s good at critiquing. He’s good at not being the last guy, the one you didn’t like. But he’s not good at building, creating, calling into being. He was good at summoning hope, but he’s not good at directing it and turning it into something concrete that answers a broad public desire.

Loser and so his failures in the debt ceiling fight. He wasn’t serious, he was only shrewd—and shrewdness wasn’t enough. He demagogued the issue—no Social Security checks—until he was called out, and then went on the hustings spouting inanities. He left conservatives scratching their heads: They could have made a better, more moving case for the liberal ideal as translated into the modern moment, than he did. He never offered a plan. In a crisis he was merely sly. And no one likes sly, no one respects it.

So he is losing a battle in which he had superior forces—the presidency, the U.S. Senate. In the process he revealed that his foes have given him too much mystique. He is not a devil, an alien, a socialist. He is a loser. And this is America, where nobody loves a loser.

Now for the really important stuff! Obama's birthday fundraiser! Like Nixon and his CREEP, (Committee to Reelect the President) Obama's Chicago people have sucked up most of the available cash that would otherwise have gone to electing members of his own party. The president's goal for this election cycle is more than one $ billion! Gotta keep those priorities straight in donkeyland...
